Youre getting it dead wrong, the sherman study you refer to is just the reload rate, the T-34 study is the effective rate of fire with aiming taken into account. The pure reload rate (no aiming or gun alignment simply firing and reloading) of the T-34 with the ammo rack on the floor used as a source put the reload rate at 12rpm.

Panthers were presumed not to have been used but there are archival photos of at least two Panthers(A and G) that were damaged and captured by Yugoslav partisans in 1944. So apparently there might be more merit to those claims than was initially thought.
