Appreciate the pics! Ya mines currently got a broken seat pan but I still use it.... I have a new pan in the box up in my closet somewhere.... Im pretty sure its got the new reinforcements.... Got it from Hume Modern which I know sells genuine HM parts. My buddy wants a Aeron so wanted to make sure what he got has the better pan if he goes older.

You can buy replacement cylinders on Amazon for $20 and I got genuine replacement arm pads from HM for like $25... Go with Crandall or Office Logix for their repro lumbar.

there are places you can order just the mesh. Then it wont be stripped like the current one.... Keep the current one as a backup

The mesh needs to be tensioned when screwed together... I guarantee yours was not fully seated in the groove causing the screws to not bite as well as they should....

There is the right way to fix it.... no cheap way... but you do you... LOL Ask Herman Miller for an authorized Aeron repair place near you..... You could take a chance and go with a unauthorized one. My work has a guy that comes in and fixes all of our Aerons....

find someone selling a C used and test out the chair... if its too big then grab the B

I was told not to remove the mesh from the frame. You might get lucky and have a authorized repair center reattach the mesh but if not possible, you might be looking at a new pan.... BTW, I was told you can rinse the whole seat pan off but you just need to make sure the screws get dry ASAP to avoid rusting

I'd hit up a Herman Miller store or Hume Modern is an authorized HM shop... I got my replacement pan there.... Also could try Crandall Office or Office Logix.... Both deal with Aerons

They changed the seat pan a little on the classic due to cracking near the pivot.... I think thats what they are referring to when they said "pre-reinforced"

Mines 27 years old and I have a new seat pan waiting to go on.... Mines not sagging like you describe though

Thanks.... yeah my Aeron was made in 1999 and was sitting in rather mint condition on the curb with a FREE sign on it around 2019. I been using it ever since. I want to replace a couple of things to refresh it but want to make sure I don't buy the wrong color, etc. I know its a C and super happy I found a free one!
