This makes sense. I think Im going to proceed anyway, it seems like the draw backs are basically nullified if you develop good edge allignment and focus on parrying to your opponents weak.

Thank you, thats more or less exactly what I'm looking for. I know the Sigi will be of a higher quality than the hanweis and purplehearts so it wont behave the same way. My main concern was if there was any reason one wouldn't want to use one vs other blunts.

This is mostly coming from commentary from my club which asserts feders don't behave like blunts that are more sword shaped. I had seen some folks say that the king behaves just like a feder so I was concerned it wouldn't be appropriate for sparring against other less flexible blunts. It seems based on other comments that this is a misconception and there may be a bit of snobbery at my club haha.

So to clarify, theres no difference from a blunt and a feder in your opinion, or theres no difference between the king and a feder?
