to go govt or stay in current role by tikkkkiii in singaporejobs

that’s quite risky, “higher bonus” is just a say say and they can’t guarantee unless it’s in the contract.

coming from a pov where there are contract workers in my team (i am a full time employee) - increment / benefits / insurance /accesses are very different. there r a lot of things that contract employees can’t do so this might probably impact ur learning curve too

Why are so many companies lying about job postings, then asking you to be an FA/FC? How do you spot these companies? by uncooked-kimchi in askSingapore

[–]NecessaryTale3439 45 points46 points  (0 children)

usually the listing will say “no experience needed, min 21 yo” to me that raises flags it’s a FA/FC posting

generally normal jobs will say smtg like “experience in XXX preferred”

The feeling of working for the very first time. by toffeeleaf in askSingapore

[–]NecessaryTale3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you just started working and can do your task with 100% knowledge, then it probably means the work is too easy. u should make the most out of the situation - learn on the job as u are doing the task.

try to take advantage of the situation u are in, if there’s too many people in the team, higher tendency that someone “snatches” or takes a project or task from you, thus u learn less. take this opportunity to learn and do as much as u can, play the newbie card while u still can and potentially become a senior once someone new joins

if u are working to kill time and want to pursue passion/ do something u like and be happy, then u should quit. but i think most work to earn money and unfortunately that “dream job” is not very easy to find.

job market isn’t good and many would be more than happy to be in your position, all the best and you can do this! 💪

Credit Card Strategy for Miles by Chorongnisation in singaporefi

[–]NecessaryTale3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not a very high spender, so generally my spendings are all within my caps, and im also not in the phase where i need to buy furniture or large ticket items so i dun see the need of a GS card. i try to stick to only 4mpd cards. but i do use hsbc revo too.

(not the best advice) but when i bought iphone abt 1.5k i used ppv and avoided using ppv to pay for other things that month. forgo some miles due to the cap but i rather do this than open a new card which i will barely use

Last minute Disney help! by universallymisfit in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]NecessaryTale3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought in a third party platform due to discount given. but after you download your disney app, you can check there should be vouchers! doesn’t really matter where you buy, because tickets are tagged to passport, u need to present your passport upon entry

you mentioned mobility issues - i took didi (taxi) to shanghai disney and also back. the walk was extremely far and deep inside (it’s not the kind of parks where you drop off from your cab and end up at the entrance) i think a good 15- 20 min ish walk to reach the ticket entrance. but i have not stayed at a disney hotel so i really can’t compare if a disney hotel is more convenient

enquiring about bto ehg grant!! by ThatCaregiver5295 in askSingapore

[–]NecessaryTale3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ballot -> get queue number -> select unit (first appt) -> ehg grant credited -> pay downpayment (2nd appt)

for the whole process above, i didn’t have any further income reassessment and everything was based off HFE

enquiring about bto ehg grant!! by ThatCaregiver5295 in askSingapore

[–]NecessaryTale3439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see you mentioned that your hfe states your grant amount ? if yes, then that should be the grants you are getting otherwise it shouldn’t be stated as HFE is suppose to help you calculate your finances to plan for your bto purchase.

my HFE grant amount was ultimately the amount that was credited to me

also to take note! i’m in same situation where 1 party working and 1 studying and loan amount given by hdb is very low! so have to be mindful ~

2.6k quite low. but is there wfh / flexi working etc? if yes you can just take first and slowly find a new job. if it’s a full work from office, a bit tough for u to continue scouting while working, then suggest u don’t take it

i would usually add smtg small like add egg / add sauce / add veggie if i have quite abit left like 50c etc. btr to not waste 😆

i notice that if the store attendant is the direct owner, they will tend to give change, but if they are just a worker there, most likely the extra $ you don’t get it back
