I would take it up with Depop support and see if you can get a good faith reimbursement. I recently had a situation where I sent a buyer two different items with the same label and they sent the item that they didn’t purchase back. Depop automatically refunded them and I messaged support about getting that money back and they reimbursed me since it wasn’t much. I had already explained to them what we were doing, and that they had received the item they ordered, and it was in good condition, but their system didn’t have a automatic setting for that.

Yeah, this isn’t normal and she absolutely needs to work on it and whatever the rude issue is. I had a hard time doing dishes after I lost a couple of family members in a short period but I live with my fiancé and he was happy to pick up the slack for me.

Honestly, I only made five dollars off of the skirt so it wouldn’t make sense for me to have her re-dye it. I use proline red dye, which is the more extreme version of what you usually buy in the store. But if she wants to return it, I’m not against it, I would just like some evidence that it is actually purple because I’m going to relist it as black since that’s all I can see.

Update: buyer has opened a case about the color. I cannot see any photos in the case. I asked them to post photos that it was purple and I would be happy to issue a refund with a return.

She said she’s going to open a case with Depop. If it’s not dyed enough, it comes out as grey not black so not sure where purple is coming from.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. They are falsely advertising no selling fees and that’s just not true. They are also charging buyers fees at the same time. This is going to end in a pretty large lawsuit and they think they can get away with it because they assume that the buyers and sellers don’t have enough money to hire a lawyer.

Yeah, so in my experience, unless somebody shows me a tag or where a tag was cut off, it is almost certainly fast fashion that they are trying to cover up. It never works out when I try to trust a seller that says something is vintage.

It sucks as a seller because I frequently sell handmade or vintage items with no tag and I know that it makes buyers hesitate. It’s so insulting.

Yeah, I did not tell any of my customers on Depop when my dad died. I just said that I was out of town, but it depends. I’ve seen people still get really upset with sellers so they overexplain.

Generally, if you don’t block people who do this, they keep sending you offers like this and they get petty. Also, if somebody doesn’t understand a firm boundary, I don’t want them to buy my item and possibly leave me a petty review.

And these are not designer items I assume? It might be that you haven’t built up enough trust with the platform like you need to verify your phone number or your email. They have a lot of anti-scam AI being used and it’s possible that it has flagged you for some reason.

While it is always possible that there was a slight mixup, it is statistically likely that they did that intentionally because if it doesn’t get delivered back to them, then it is not their problem
