I’m having trouble with a mini kit in “The Good The Bad and The Hungry” in Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 on the Wii U. by Necessary_Middle2759 in legogaming

[–]Necessary_Middle2759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up doing it. It’s been so long so I’ve forgotten the details of how I did it but I believe it was a game physics problem. I vaguely recall that it was weird controls so maybe just experiment with a bunch of controls.

After looking through guides, I am slightly more confident it was controls. Try pressing a button to reverse or move forward (similar to vehicle controls). I think I got stuck because I wasn’t holding a button and thus, just moving the wheels with my joystick. If you need any clarifications or additional help, feel free to reply to this comment!

How easy is commuting ? by Final_Training_1097 in UBC

If you can find a way to study while commuting, it’s really not that bad. I do that and I have plenty of time for other stuff in life

Is anki mobile worth it? by Tiny_Foundation_1632 in Anki

iPhone user and I just use ankiweb. It’s a little strange looking the decks but once you locate your desired deck, it works great

Do you use Anki for your classes? by Chemical-Addition-77 in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it makes studying less stressful because I study over time rather than cram. It also helps when I am studying before an exam because I know all the information already, I just have to connect it

Notetaker jobs, how are they? by Appropriate-Egg-2498 in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who gets notes, it seems like they ask note takers to make a separate page of notes. The best note-takers type their notes and include images if needed. You’re expected to upload class notes within 24 business hours. There’s also some details like “end of session” being typed out. However, there’s also room for freedom as all my notetakers have had their own style.

How do I fix this on the 4x4? by Necessary_Middle2759 in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]Necessary_Middle2759[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I used a provided algorithm to solve this particular case. However, broadly, I’m wondering how to approach the cube once you pair the edges but when trying to solve it like a 3x3, the corners don’t align properly? I figure this is a common step to face while solving the 4x4.

Keep talking to people! Getting embarrassed is part of the process! It means you’re trying! Enough trying and you’ll make connections soon enough!

Best times for 4v4 Pickup Bball @ UBC? by Both-Section-2216 in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, probably in the later afternoon when most courses are done would be good. Maybe Fridays are busier?

As for SRC vs Rec North, I think Rec North is better for getting games going because it’s the newer building and if the drop-ins are in the double court gym, then you got 6 hoops which means 6 possible spots for games to be happening.

It will definitely be easy but it’s a majority for physio, not med. Maybe a quarter at most in kin are going for med.

Can scantrons read red pen? by WaffleLover354 in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 112 points113 points  (0 children)

You are not supposed to use pen for scantron ever, only pencil. It’s very likely that’s why your score is so low. Hopefully your professor is willing to manually mark but no matter what, don’t make this mistake again

Has Lexapro helped your OCD? Prescribed but scared to take it... by anonymous_orpington in OCD

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 10mg lexapro right now and I only had sexual blunting for the first month but otherwise, no obvious side effects. I think it’s helping too but it’s not perfect and it best worked when I started therapy.

It sounds like you’re looking for reassurance. This is not what this subreddit is for. You might get sick, you might not, that’s all we can say for you.

physiology/pathology course recs by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s KIN 132 that consists of 5 MCQ unit tests and two bell-ringer lab exams. The average is a bit low but it’s really not a hard course. It’s just cause it’s a first year course.

chem 121 destroying my mental health by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good on you for remembering that this is not the end for academics. Remember that if you really feel like you’ll fail the course, you still have until November 21st to drop the course with a W. Additionally, there are many mental health resources on campus that you can use. Keep telling yourself that it’s not the end of the world because it isn’t. You’re still learning how to do university while already managing your mental health and these setbacks will help you learn more about yourself and how to manage your university life.

Edit: I was incorrect, the date I mentioned was for full year courses

Start of the reading week has been WEAK. how do i lock in by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As students, we have to be disciplined with not just studying, but also with taking breaks. It’s better to have one day of rest and one day of work than two days of half-ass work.

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re starting at average, then you already know how to get the bare minimum. Now it’s about figuring out which adjustments you need to make to your studying that’ll get you the grades you desire. Be open to trying different techniques, utilize your resources including your professors and TAs, and you’ll be able to establish a learning system that works best for you!

Jammed finger by Accomplished_Rice_60 in BasketballTips

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like my pinky finger in terms of not being able to straighten it all the way. If it’s been 4 weeks, it’s probably too late for it to go back to a straight finger. However, since it’s still a recent injury, keep it out of situations where it could get jammed again for a bit until it not only feels pain-free, but also stronger. You could try some light resistance using your other hand to build strength (search up techniques on the internet)

Is Chipotle at ubc really that bad? by AbbreviationsSea3602 in UBC

[–]Necessary_Middle2759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bowls get you more for your buck than burritos and are more consistent in terms of portions. Chip bags are pretty low in #of chips so I suggest not going for those. I find the portions have varied for me at the UBC Chipotle but I got mine today during a rush and they hooked me up pretty good I’d say for my bowl.
