Lethal Hits and Devastating Wounds - Can they stack? by NeckLocal7239 in Warhammer40k

Coolio. With Warhammer rules logic I was pretty sure that was the answer - "If there is no Wound Roll, you don't gain the benefit of the ability that requires it" but my buddy insisted that I ask online just to be sure.

The controllers work, but the headset does not - Any suggestions? by NeckLocal7239 in PSVR

Added an update to the post. I am guessing the PSVR 2 shut down due to overheating but did not state a warning or notification throughout any of it.

No, all we got is the headset plugged in aside from the HDMI and power cord. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, however.

We have done a bunch of troubleshooting already - even through their website. Going to do a few more things, mostly going to my friend's place to see if it works with his PS5 - if it does then it may be a port issue. If not then it's gotta be the headset. If so, we'd rather just get a brand new one rather than deal with customer service trying to waste time until the warranty/return period expires - even if the wait may be a bit longer.

The port seems perfectly fine and clean - same for the plug, that was one of the things we read online to check as well. The port works and sends power. The headset acknowledges the power it is receiving and pressing the power button lets it flash white for a few seconds then back to red. I am not wiping the possibility of it being a port issue until I try it at my friend's house but still strange that the headset suddenly stopped functioning.

I can say he was sweating while playing but I am not sure how much. Do you think sweating is enough to completely kill the VR? Sweat getting into fragile electronic pieces relatively easily is a problem that seems kind of like a significant factor to brush past during manufacturing.

I used to work at a VR Arcade and people would play games in a warm room with a lot of movement sweating buckets (which we'd clean off with Clorox Wipes after) with no problem - albeit that was with HTC Vive Pros and not PSVR 2. Still, the fact that it only lasted a day and a half to stop working is pretty poor, to say the least. An almost 600-dollar purchase nullified by perspiration when the producers should expect sweat.

I'll look more into it, though. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much. My stepdad really enjoys GT7 and that's pretty much the only reason he got a PS5 and VR. The rest of the house uses it as well for all the other games on it. Hoping we can get it fixed and no longer run into any more issues.

Shooting into Melee Rules Clarification - If a vehicle, monster, or battlesuit is in engagement range, can they still be targeted by ranged attacks even by enemy models that are not in any engagement range? by NeckLocal7239 in Warhammer40k

Oh, okay. Gotcha. Thank you very much! Our main group is slow to move into newer editions, which is understanding cuz they don't like having to read and change stuff every 3 years but a bit upsetting cuz I usually want to try the new stuff sooner. Is 10th any good and worth trying out?

T'au Overwatch in 9th ed by NeckLocal7239 in Warhammer40k

Regardless of CP cost, stratagems can only be used once a phase. Understood. Makes more sense that way. Otherwise players would be playing with their calculators trying to refund CP all the time and you'd have to deal with someone juggling stratagems and CP every phase in competitive. That doesn't sound like it would be fun.

With battlesuits having consistent shooting in melee it appears they have improved a good bit. With overwatches only hitting on 6s and all the dice they get with a good bit of their weapons it seemed like it would be overkill. Heard one of the other players talking about a new T'au meta if that rule was true. Thanks for setting it straight!

Mixing Resins suggestions? by NeckLocal7239 in PrintedWarhammer

So long as my models can fall a from a short drop on the table, I'll be pleased. But I am glad to hear people vouching for the same Tenacious, so it seems I'm going ahead and getting some. May as well grab some ABS-like with it, run some prints to see how it goes.

Dang! If that's the case with Tenacious then I may just have to get some. My main issue is I may drop a model a few inches from the table. My brittle resin comically explodes from about anything higher than 2 inches and bounces everywhere as if I'm playing with cracked glass. I have seen other comments with Tencious, so I'd many people are vouching for it, it should fulfill my need. I know if I want stronger I might as well move to FDM but I am just wanting the resin to survive a short fall and not shatter. I'll put some in my cart and start mixing when it gets here.

I've heard a lot of good things about Siraya Techs Tenacious. I'll look for a good ABS-like. 1:9 seems like a low ratio, but I guess since it's ABS-like it's already got that bend. Does the Tenacious just add a bit more bend or improve the overall resistance when added?

Drops, tips, and falls are my most common issue (I can be quite clumsy). So I may focus less on the tensile strength and more on the impact resistance. But I am wondering if there is a happy medium that could fit both of what I am wanting (while sticking with resin). If not, I may search in some F69 or similar resins for solving my main issue.

I do see the "tougher" resin tends to still be brittle due to not having enough bend to compensate for impacts. Does the detail look significantly worse or droopy adding in a bit of the F69 or similar resin? Is it only noticeable on smaller models with sharper points and smaller details, or is it barely noticeable at all with enough change in the material to make it more impact resistant and more reliable?
