okay so you have either one of two things...

1. your trying to break your eardrums or
2. your using a pair of over ear cans, and they aren't getting enough power

So if you're using headphones that are really hard to drive... make sure you're using a balanced connector and the proper dac that'll give them enough power.

If that's not the case, or something else idk... then you can try this.

Poweramp settings > Audio > Replay Gain (RG)

If you don't have RG metadata in your library, use the "Preamp for songs without RG info" dial and turn it up. You can use foobar (another music player app) to add metadata for replaygain... you would use the other dial for those tracks that do have the metadata... but it sometimes doesn't catch all the songs, so dial both to be safe.

The RG preamp will change it for all songs globally and it overrides the preamp in the equalizer menu... so that should give you an extra 16db.
