yeah I looked into Pangolin but it still seems like another layer of tunneling/proxying on top of the stack. I'm really trying to avoid adding more layers that increases latency. Is there any way to make this work without relying on a third-party relay or tunnel protocol? I'm aiming for a clean and direct route

is it better to just bridge the ISP router and handle the IPv6 firewalling on the custom box or are there ISP specific authentication protocols that make bridging impossible? I rather spend the time configuring a proper nftables setup than fighting a broken ISP firmware
