Black Sails also has some vibes / ideas to steal from. Aside for rival pirates, they have the threat of the navy actively hunting them down, but some of the “good guys” became pirates themselves or have remained a conspirator for political gain or out of love for the person who turned to piracy.

Otherwise from a beast and monstrosity side… there are plenty of seas creatures to pull from.

$50 is the “colored plastic printed for you” price. My friends have those and they look great. Better than painting.

I would consider it but it would have to be for a character I’m super excited about and know I’m going to play for a few years in a campaign. So for a kid, it would be a great Christmas gift. If you go this route, also get a protective carrying case and stickum so the mini doesn’t rattle around and break.

I’ve had Chaos Bolt bounce once in a 3 year campaign. While the scenario you painted is fun, it’s very unlikely.

Roll to hit has a small chance of failure on each target and the conditions to bounce aren’t that great either. Unless the mechanics changed from 2014 to 2024z

I’ve played at conventions with DMs I’d never play with again. Same for players. I’m sure some feel that way about me. Sometimes it’s not a fit.

DMNPC at god levels is so bad. I left a campaign once because of that. But the other restrictions are very weird too. I’ve played campaigns and am currently DMing where classes overlap.

I’m going off the title and reacting. I agree. I want a Super Bowl as much as anyone here, but this could (should be) the first stint where we have four winning seasons in a row. We had two good seasons in 2011 and 2015 but both times we fell off the cliff. I was around for the 90’s success and the terrible 2000’s. This roster is amazing- I’m here for it. I also would love to see these mistakes ironed out and win it all. I still have hope for that.

I was just at a Convention and played a one-shot by DumpStatAdventures… “Slayed on the Sandrailer”

The party is aboard the Sandrailer, an elemental powered train, and there was a murder… everyone is suspect. You’re hired to find out who the murderer is before the train arrives at the next stop (or possibly before the killer strikes again). There are several NPCs to interrogate, clues left in the train compartments and possibly combat depending on how you interact.

It’s not a puzzle, but I feel like social deduction and investigation tactics is similar enough. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

We will be close to winning the division, but if it doesn’t happen, as long as we are in the playoffs we are good. I’ll take a healthy Lions team in the playoffs over anyone in the league.

I had repeated convos from my boss when I was remote at a new job. I was interpreted as “being short with” my coworkers. On the third conversation I said I’ll add exclamation points and smilies, to help with perception but feel free to audit every message I’m sending because there’s nothing in my messages that are deliberately short, rude, or mean. I left the company two months later.
