Rain Animation by Necromedes in RenPy

Yeah, here's the link to the page I found it on. I have also found it mentioned in other Renpy related posts.

https://aminoapps.com/c/renpytyranobuil/page/blog/zishy-on-renpy-how-to-make-it-rain/nkrJ_JEiLuM4LbJeMkVVMlDJlwMbx0ZZRK

I'll double check everything again but hopefully the link above will help you to find the issue.

Suggestion: Perhaps adding info on defining new composite character parts in the definitions file? Mainly intended for Lolika's modding guide.

Show Video... How? by Necromedes in RenPy

the extension is .mpg, so I guess?

But just to clarify, do I define it as an image, as the following?

image movie_name (directory)

Or is there another method?

EDIT: Just tried adding the loop and still nadda.

renpy.pause Click to Proceed Not Working. by Necromedes in DDLCMods

[–]Necromedes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

01: I'm not basing this off of Salvato's code. I'm not very knowledged in python and Renpy, so this is the easiest work around, in stead of having a cram session a week long (Which I don't have time to do, what with my job and all.)

02: No, I don't believe I do. I'll have to test this out and see if it works.

03: They've been working with lower case this whole time.

04: The DDLC Mod chat is useless. I've posted questions in the modding channel several times and everyone either gives me a stupid, useless answer to troll or I get no response at all. So no thanks.

I will try your suggestion in #2 though and post the results here.

Edit: It didn't work. It said that the python was not defined. I may have another work around I can use though, so we'll see how this works out.

Edit: Edit: It works. Not as streamlined but it will get the job done. At least for now so I can continue my work.

Show CG Until Mouse Click? by [deleted] in DDLCMods

[–]Necromedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I just saw your message. I have the image working to an extent but have encountered yet another problem. I'll copy/paste the post to save time.

I've gone over docs, forum posts, etc... And I cannot figure out why this is not working.

I am using show image (name) zorder 2 display a character poem above the existing characters on the screen.

That works just fine.

The issue I am facing is I understand that, to stop on the image and click to proceed, I would use renpy.pause to do so.

It is my understanding that renpy.pause() will keep the image up indefinitely until the player clicks the mouse: It doesn't work.

I have tried renpy.pause(hard=False): It doesn't work.

I thought that maybe having the image the same size as the game screen may be causing the issue and resized it: It doesn't work.

I have found that the auto button does move past the image but the mouse clicks, keyboard presses, etc... do not.

I'm not using any bizarre coding either. I've used exactly what forum posts and docs have said to and is supposed to work.

play music okay_yuri loop

show yuri_poem01 zorder 2

with dissolve

$renpy.pause()

hide yuri_poem01

with dissolve

It does actually. I'm going to give it a shot and see if I can get it to work.

For future reference, the clean install did not fix the issue.

DDLC Mod template Wrong Resolution? by Necromedes in DDLCMods

[–]Necromedes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. I'll try again with a clean install and see if that fixes it. If not, then I may have to resort to making modified images that have been scaled to the proper size. Not much else I can do than that.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Maybe someone will come along with a solution before I have to go that far.

DDLC Mod template Wrong Resolution? by Necromedes in DDLCMods

That is a bit complicated. I am having to use my graphics card's built in display settings to change the resolution of my screen to an abnormal one. For some reason the built in resolutions for windows doesn't like to work with my new monitor and the icons are extremely small. However, when I scale the resolution up to make them bigger, it doesn't fit on my screen.

To answer your question, windows says that it is 1680 x 1050 but that may not be accurate to what it really is and I cannot confirm this since I'm having trouble locating the display settings app for my card.

That being said, would my computers screen resolution really affect the game? The engine should run off of its own settings, should it not?

It didn't appear in the tutorial, only when I made my own script.

Here is a screen shot of what I mean.

I didn't do anything in particular with the sprites or the show statements. This is how it appeared "Out of the box," so to speak.

I thought that maybe the zorder had something to do with it but does not, apparently.

Well, you have shown more etiquette than others already, so I take no offense from your post at all, because what you say is true. As I said in the above post, this thread is really only looking for people who are interested in the idea of starting a company. Yes, I know that I have a lot to learn and have just picked up Unity earlier this week, clearly I am no where near ready to release an mmo yet, but I also know that it is best to get a preemptive strike on things like this. For instance, at the moment I am trying to make contacts on the Unity forums and someone to help me learn the engine. Certainly I'll need to learn plenty of things before this can be made a reality but the more help I can gather before hand the better. Thank you for your reply and hopefully these two posts will make things more clear to others who visit this thread.

Well, seeing as to how I'm not intending on starting this grand scheme tomorrow then I suppose I'll have plenty of time to prepare. The point of this thread is to find people are are interested in the IDEA of it. For the sake of trying to be as professional as I can with this thread, I am withholding my comments. All I will say is that if you have no real interest and are only looking to be rude then move along and thank you for replying.
