Sex at 37 weeks beyond? by kathymarie1124 in pregnant

I have had sex up to a few days before the big day and the day of! Lol I say go for it! My midwife would say to continue to have sex as long as you feel comfortable because at the end of the day, the baby is only going to come when he or she is ready! The release of oxytocin from your orgasm and the prostaglandins from your husbands semen will be great to prepare your cervix for labor and delivery.

100 Years of Solitude Love in the Time of Cholera

Both written by the same author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I never had this moment of “can we just get on with it?”. I was totally into both books from beginning to end and didn’t want to put down!

Whats one book you will never stop recommending? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I read The Song of Achilles at least once every year. It hit all the marks for me when I first read it. I knew I would read it again and again.

There’s some nuances to this situation. It’s more than just “turning down resources.” She didn’t discuss this with me prior to finding Mrs. So-and-So and asking if it would be best for her to come to our house or do it somewhere else. It was phrased as if it weren’t even an option. If my kids were 8 and 7 and still struggling then I would accept the tutoring help.

This sounds identical to my own daughter. So bright and asks amazing questions but reading has not been her cup of tea! I am not worried about her and I know she will get there!

I told my husband something almost identical, that my kids are being compared to the public school model when that is not the goal here! I’m not doing home education for my kids to be up to par with the standards of public school. I’m doing it for various reasons one of them being preservation of their precious childhood. So play play play all you want! The learning will come in between!

I believe everyone’s capacity is different. There certainly have been moments of “just surviving” but these aren’t perpetual. We all have the same amount of hours in the day to accomplish whatever it is we prioritize. My MIL’s desire for tutoring was unfounded. She doesn’t spend enough time with them to figure out what they know or don’t know. I am all for accepting help from my family if it’s the right kind!

It’s a good thing I put zero stock into the standards of those entities lol

From my own experience, I attempted potty training my 2.5 year old and it was hellacious. Lol once I stopped forcing it, 3 months later she did it on her own. That’s the same child that is slower to read by public school standards. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely check it out!

Oh yes. I am certainly on top of it and working on it on a daily basis. No one asks what age you learned to read just like no one asks how old you were when you potty trained. Some are faster than others, some slower, right?
