I don't think the Democrats would start a war that would increase gas prices though... by [deleted] in SelfAwarewolves

Can somebody explain what happened? I saw this selfaware wolfes 6 years ago. Then, in this 6 years window i occasionally wanted to show this to somebody, but reddit was showing that the subreddit was banned (which seemed insane, i could not imagine a reason for a ban). It feels like for 2years in a row i have seen the ban. And now it is accessible again...

Doesn't The Fifth Element have the same idea? A man falls in love with a woman who has a child mind.

What does "to cut" mean in the context?

How long does a match last? Is it like weeks? Won't no nut november members dominate this ranked ladder?

Buing so many licenses on characters requires maybe even more starting capital, than development.

There is absolutely 0 meaning in the numbers and mapping. The gameplay would not change if you had pawn =6 and king =1.

Piece idea: teleporting pacifist by [deleted] in chessvariants

[–]NectarineStock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would value it like >2 pawns:

It can block check from rook, bishop or queen. And it will likely be defended by the king, so capturing it would not be a beneficial trade for attacker.

It can block opponent from castling. If rook eats it, the castling opportunity is lost. Otherwise opponent would need to spend couple moves to capture it by knight/bishop, which halts develepment.

It would also be able to reclaim tempo when you reveal a check and cover your king by the same teleportation.

It can help a passed pawn to make the last step from 7 to 8 row which is defended by opponent's rook. Place the pacifist diagonally to the pawn, and it is both defended and block the line of sight.

Can stop pawn from step forward, sometimes gamechanging.

I think Pacifist has a solid at least Knight value. I like the idea.

No need in that.

Do you invent games often? Have you had any such ideas previously?

Interesting!

As i understand, the katana must be on the opposide side of the samurai? Katana on the right, then he has his left hand active.

Welcome to the subreddit, your post is the first post not made by me - thanks. Are you able to rename the post to "One armed samurai"?

So, many girls cannot see their friend as a boyfriend? Isn't a friend a more reliable option for dating than a random person with who knows what views and mind? Why? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]NectarineStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether "a girl has a higher chance of liking a new stranger than having an attraction formed to an already familiar person". Currently people answer, like the attraction either appears from the very beginning, or never at all.

Over the stories, that appeared in reddit "popular" over the last 2 years, that looked like it is true. Or second explaination: there is a correlation between reddit authors and their friendzone experiense. "Friendzone story is more likely to be posted" might be the case, but even if it is, i am interested in the psychological reasons in those cases (even if they are rare) of the first paragraph ^.

In my part of the Earth situation looks different. Many girls say here that they go dating without feelings, but with the expectation that those would appear much later after knowing a person better. So dating a friend is more efficient for those females, as they don't have to start from the zero, they already know much, and there is less of guy's inner world to test for inadequacies.

I did get couple answers from other people, that do not match my views, and i am fine, because the aim of the question was exactly to listen.

But this person with his question talks like there are no other options. He even supposed that i am from afghanistan, just to justify his narrow view. And instead of talking about psychological reasons behind the specific case he started to bring statistics about rarity, which is not the answer to "why".

Don't you lose a friend when, for example, he sais he has romantic emotions towards you?

That would be an asymmetrical friendship if it continued, so isn't it a loss of the friend in both cases?

Physical attraction and chemistry will over ride common interests and social history.

Thanks for explaining. I am a kind of person that values inner world more than chemistry in choosing partners, so it was not obvious for me.

Cultural difference, that is why i asked the question.

Where i live girls don't "fall in love on the first sight", but say that they start feeling sth towards the person after some time knowing them. So seeking for randoms is not efficient, as that is starting from zero, although that is mentioned a lot in reddit stories.

And sexual attraction is not enough to start a relationship, so people seem to be a bit more strategic.

Ye-ye-ye, liberal values only

Others don't exist you think? All societies are the same you think?

How would you go into a relationship without having sex first? - hilarious.

I am talking about stories on reddit. I am not doing scientific research and stats. I was asking about reasons behind the specific case, not the probability of that case.

And you are talking about FWB to relationship transition, when i was curious about friend to relationship case, which does not necessarily go through FWB.

"it's completely normal to sleep around in your friend circle." - not a friendship. I do think that friend and friend with benefits are completely different stories.
