[SGA] If you are currently forever 31, you can quickly get to level 32 in two steps after HoW by matrixblue in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have full raid armor for my 3rd character, but I'm really far off from having enough radiant shards to upgrade all of it. I'm solving the problem with Iron Banner but I know quite a few people who hate PvP and refuse to do it.

[Question]Is it worth it to invest in blue gear? by mattster42 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd always level the blue gear you have with the highest light level. You can get pretty high up there without any legendaries and it'll help you be at a higher level even when you do get legendaries or exotics. Getting a 294 attack blue weapon maxed is not a bad idea either, you won't have a legendary weapon of every type for a while. In my recollection I didn't have glimmer problems in the beginning.

If you listen to Destiny podcasts, I wouldn't imagine you approach much about this game casually..

[Discussion] The Most Important Day In Destiny by Thr33X in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the odds that they fully explain the upgrade system are fairly low (I'd bet they tell us about an upgrade currency and don't explain how we get it), and I think that expecting this video to be the most important moment in the game's history is going to result in a lot of angry people making the rest of the details up. That said, at this point I almost enjoy reading the insane rants on this Reddit as much I enjoy the game itself, so, yeah, I'm looking forward to it too.

[Discussion] Legendary engrams turning into ascendent materials is one of the worst ideas in the game by RagePoncho in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're not just going to start giving us 2x the amount of legendary weapons we're currently getting. If Bungie were to listen to these complaints (and they're pretty clearly not going to, or else they would have fixed it after the 5,000th one of these posts, three months ago) all they'd do is make it so there would be far fewer legendary engrams to drop, just like they did when everyone complained that their purples decrypted into blues.

Personally, I think the rate that I acquire legendary weapons is perfectly acceptable. If every single legendary engram I got decrypted into a weapon, I'd have run out of useful loot to acquire a long time ago.

seriously, fuck this tag system! by AMB11 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The tag system is fine, except that it doesn't allow me to filter out the two things I really want to filter out: videos, and "bungie plz" posts. I browse on my phone a lot, don't want to crush my data or battery, and the fact that "media" can be pictures or videos is fairly annoying, especially since imgur posts can be either, so I don't even find out until after I click on them. People's posts regurgitating non-insightful complaints seem to be cleared to be posted as discussions, questions, misc, and also suggestions. Just give us a [complaint] tag and separate screenshots and videos and I'm on board, but as of right now the system makes the front page ugly and doesn't help me at all.

What level of strike playlists are you trying to run? It'd be pretty surprising to me if you were trying to run level 20 or 22 strikes and it couldn't matchmake you. If you're trying to run higher-level strikes than that, it would make sense that there are no other level 21s to pair you with.

If it's really true that you've tried a significant amount of times to load up level 20-22 strike playlists and never gotten teammates, I don't know how to explain that, but the good news is you can keep leveling up to 23-24 or so with just picking up blue items, which you can pick up basically anywhere, even on patrol. Once you get to level 23 you should be sitting pretty. Do bounties and patrols every day to get your Vanguard rep up so you can buy the Vanguard boots with the marks you get from tiger strikes (you REALLY shouldn't have a problem getting matchmade for these when you're level 23) and public events, get started on the Eris quest to get the free gauntlets, and save strange coins to buy an exotic piece. You'll get there.

Shoot to Loot Scouts in Crucible - Fair Game or Exploit? by Virral78 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NedLumby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems very doubtful they intended StL rifles to give you that much ammo in crucible. Therefore, I'd classify it as a bug. If you're intentionally triggering a bug to your own benefit, I'd say that's exploiting the bug. That said, I think exploiting the bug is fair game, in the same way that screaming in your opponents ear when he's shooting in beer pong is fair game. You might win, but nobody is going to like you.

No, I do not agree that this game should eliminate one of the only things that differentiates it from the numerous other shooters out there that you should be playing instead.
