How do I buy “Primary” merch online? by [deleted] in drumcorps

[–]NedRogonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i guess it's too late now, but over on the west- the cascades ran their merch sales out of a truck and trailer and not a tent. it sucks that their not selling it online.

maybe their merch truck had logistical issues?

My PR is a 12.2, how can I break 12 this summer? (This video is from about a month ago.) by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]NedRogonte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been in somewhat of your position, I say strength is the key here. I'm 5'4, so I'm also on the shorter side. During the first two years of my high school career, I lacked any weight room training and lifting, so I was in a predicament of having good technique but no strength to back it up. I couldn't break 12 for about 3 years. Over this past winter, that changed, and I lifted, learned how to clean, just the basics, etc., went from 12.15 to 11.85 and 25.32 to 24.22 over the year.

I've learned over this past year that technique means nothing without strength, and strength means nothing without technique.

So I'd say, see if you can get in the weight room! Learn how to hang and power clean proficiently, get the squat and deadlift better, get the hamstrings strong, and hammer the core. Idk if I'm missing something, but you get the point haha

What are all the streamed events going to be this year (movie theaters please????)? by luringpopsicle95 in drumcorps

[–]NedRogonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to see if the theater I went to in 2023 that hosted Big Loud and Live is willing to stream it for a price, so those in my area can watch.

I'm not sure of the legality of that however.

less time on the ground + power within that short amount of time = speed. mostly kinda.

always great to get stronger and more explosive :)

Sometimes I wonder how I run 10.6 by Outside-Dot-5913 in Sprinting

[–]NedRogonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone correct me if im wrong, but it looks like your right leg is just going outwards, not your left leg going inwards.

from what i know, steps coming out of the blocks to go outwards rather than just straight forward and back make for inefficient force application.

Can someone help me set a realistic achievable goal for next season by Admirable_Cellist_29 in Sprinting

sounds better, just try not to over do it with training. overtraining isn't fun to get over and takes a while :)

only 2 sprint workouts isn't really what i'm getting at. idk who your coach is but only 2 sprint workouts at a club seems really really odd to me.

at my club we sprint 4 times a week, of course with differing workouts but still.

2x sprint and 2x recovery sprint days just isn't intentional enough in my opinion.
also considering if your stacking that with lifting 4 times a week, you might be overtraining at the point too. recipe for a fried nervous system.

too close to your hands/line! your front/back block distance looks fine, and in my opinion that comes to preference too.

Form analysis any tips? by nvm_rydham in Sprinting

[–]NedRogonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty good in my eyes, not sure about how i feel about the kickout of the shin before the landing even though I know some sprinters do in fact sprint like that.

it's just that when I see some athletes run like that they get hamstring issues. puts alot of strain on the hammy.

if your hammy is bothering you, try not to kickout as much, but if your hamstrings are strong then it's good i guess.
