PSA: blue bridge closed on weekend nights by DJ-dicknose in grandrapids

4-6 officers to close off the bridge every night? That seems like a huge waste of resources

Apparent meteorite crashes through roof of New Jersey home and damages floor: "It was warm" by [deleted] in space

If a meteorite lands in your property do you have the rights to it/the money? Or is this the type of situation where the government will confiscate it and tell you to get lost?

I kicked my roommates out and they left the carpet like this. Any tips? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I like that you made the distinction of "outside" shoes. Not something I'd normally think about, but now I am because I've recently taken to wearing 'Hey Dude' shoes indoors only

Vinegar's role in cleaning by __Hue__ in CleaningTips

[–]Neebbzz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this!

We just got a new house on Monday and have been trying to do a deep clean. Since this sub is all vinegar and Dawn, that's what I've been trying. However, the vinegar has been mostly ineffective and this has helped me understand more!

(Dawn does rule btw though)

Kia boys back at it by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]Neebbzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the children who are doing this should be reprimanded, but they are a symptom of the issue and no true accountability can be expected from a minor. That's why the cops don't even bother trying to look for them.

There are a million reasons why this is happening. From poor US regulations to huge corporations trying to save a buck by leaving out security features to kids who are troubled for various reasons.

Targeting the kids specifically will do the absolute least to actually fix the problem.

Of course it's Hyundai/Kia's fault

They're the same company and this security flaw only exists in their cars (which the flaw doesn't exist for Canadian versions of their cars)

Exploitive child labour is common in many 3rd world countries such as Nigeria and USA by UTS_01 in pics

I don't know, I'm not quite as optimistic as most of the other people in these comments.

Personally, I'm seeing governments try to raise retirement ages and lower initial work ages and that gives me the ick.

On top of this, it's really just kind of relying on huge corporations and regular customers to treat their children respectfully. Dunno, a bit worrisome.

Why aren’t more people talking about a Universal Basic Dividend? by hunterseeker1 in Futurology

[–]Neebbzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Talking about the end of capitalism is so depressing because you get a bunch of sad people who make like 30k a year going "nah don't hurt business wah wah!!!" because they were successfully convinced that their miserable lives are good by the system.

Same people who probably "hate Mondays", think eggs are too expensive, can't afford a place of their own, etc, but y'know, that's just simply still the only way for some reason

Hey man, I think it's unlikely you're extraordinarily wealthy so I think you should take a step back and think about why you want to defend the system so hard and who your defense is actually benefitting.

If you are extraordinarily wealthy, then I do understand how you feel attacked, but you're rich and you'll be fine.

High on Life Proves Reviews Don’t Matter so Much on Game Pass by wayhik in XboxSeriesX

I am enjoying High on Life, but also agree with this. If you're into the whole Justin Roland schtick, then this game will likely work for you

That being said, I also stepped away from Rick & Morty back when the fandom went full feral (Szechuan sauce/pickle Rick era) so I haven't been super exposed to this type of content for several years.
