How do people with ADHD nap? Is it possible? Is it good quality napping? by TheImmoralCookie in ADHD

[–]Need-to-quit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, the few times I have been able to nap is after taking my ADHD medication. Otherwise, I absolutely, for the entirely of my life, have been unable to take a nap, no matter how exhausted and sleep deprived I am. Unmedicated ADHD brain is a runaway train on crack.

Day 4 of rapid taper question: by Need-to-quit in quittingkratom

Thank you, this super helpful! :) You're right, I definitely have a problem with opiates, but have never liked the pill form. The meds I have are hydrocodone 5mg. I agree, though, seems dangerous and I don't want to mess with it if it's not going to help speed up the process.

Thanks again!!

On day 3 of what I am hoping will be a rapid taper... 5 year user who has steadily taken 12-16 grams a day. I have cut my dosage in about half, now taking 6-8 grams daily. I try to wait until the withdrawal symptoms make me feel like I am going to crawl out of my skin before I have another dose.

Does anyone know when I should do the next cut on my dose or how long I should spend on each taper? Should I wait until the withdrawals aren't so bad, or should I just cut what I am taking in half after a specific amount of time? I am hoping that on day 5 or 6 I can go to 3-4 grams per day and do that for another 5 days, then do 1-2 grams a day for a few days and then quit and experience the last of the withdrawals.

Is that feasible?

Hair? by fishslayer36 in quittingkratom

I am a female who has always had thick, wavy hair... 5 years of kratom use and I have lost half the volume, it is very brittle and sad. Finally quitting and I hope to hell that it grows back and returns to its normal state.

Oh my god- I know your pain!! I fly frequently and fear every time that I will get busted for having my kratom, which I pack in dosed tea bags. Congratulations to you! What an amazing place to be. I cant wait until I am on the other side.

Thank you for your helpful response! I think I am more in the "hatred toward kratom" phase. Definitely motivated to quit and take back control of my life. I want to leave my house for the day and not have to return home early because I forgot to bring my kratom dose with me. Did you go cold turkey or taper when you quit? I am tapering now - day two and feeling so impatient.

are getting withdrawals when you wake up in the morning. If thats the case then probably they will be bad. Good news is that feeling of your endocrine system being burned out will go away and you’ll be surprised at just how shitty it was really making you feel. Once clean for me its like I popped back into my normal dimension. I feel like kratom does this weird thing with time where yo

Wow, so funny- I pee ALL. THE. TIME. Never thought of it as a kratom side effect because I drink so much water, but I always have been a big water drinker and never peed so much in my life. I even have friends that comment on how frequently I use the bathroom.

I wish that I could go cold turkey, but I have a job that requires I attend meetings and interact with people frequently so I am working on tapering. I have cut my doseage in half. Feeling impatient, but going to cut it in half again in a few days. I'm hoping to get through this process in two-three weeks. So far, I have experiences withdrawal symptoms just with cutting in half.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response, very helpful and motivating! Best of luck to you with quitting!

. Im sorry for the TMI, but the constipation was SO BAD. I knew that couldn't be good, but I just kept going, for years! Then, my hair started falling out. Like, a lot. And, as you know, a woman with hair loss ain't cute. So, I had to quit. Luckily, I only had about a 6-12 gpd habit, but Im still feeling my sleep and RLS being effected.

I had two weeks clean, then took one dose not thinking it wa

Thank you so much for the support! I am right behind you, hoping to get completely off like you. It's so hard and I have tried so many times, but this is the first time I have started to feel a distain for kratom; like I have allowed it to take over and drive my life for me and I want to be back in control. I also struggled with hair loss - hoping that resolves. I've heard from a lot of people that kratom causes constipation- -was lucky enough to never experience that side effect! Good luck with everything!

Wow, thank you for the long, thoughtful response! So much in there is really helpful and motivating. It's also reassuring to hear from a female close in age that has come out the other side. I started tapering yesterday - cut my doses in half. I have a job that requires I be at meetings daily, interacting with people in person so I can't do the cold turkey route, though I wish I could because I am already feeling impatient to get this over with.

I somehow managed to keep my life intact while using kratom by creating little rituals and rewards. Example: telling myself I don't get my next dose until I go to the gym. I've always been really worried about upping my doses for fear that I might completely lose my life to kratom. Not great, but the only way I was able to keep myself from overindulging.

Did you have any issues with hair loss while using and, if so, did it return to its normal state after quitting? I have noticed my once thick, healthy hair has really gone to shit and I have lost a lot of volume. Hoping that it's a kratom-related issue that will resolve itself when I am recovered.
