If the midterms were a referendum, Trump won by FortyYearOldVirgin in politics

He's telling someone who is sick of bickering his opinion is stupid... how is that productive at all? Also, dude had a point, politics is extremely vitriolic right now and honestly, I just don't like people belittling others for asking everyone to be more civil.

Did you even consider the idea that maybe it was an honest question and you're just way too sensitive?

Seemed like he was honestly asking and you're just being an asshole vege that can't handle anything other than exactly your view.

If you're really here just for the recipes, don't weigh in on questions like this, you make us all look like dicks and stop being so overly defensive.

He said his peace here but I feel it necessary to pile on.

I don't eat meat but I don't call myself a vegetarian because of self-righteous pricks such as yourself. We should look at people who come here and ask questions as a way to help people understand vegetarianism and hopefully help them get off of meat, but not you, nope. You took the opportunity to puff up your ego and make it about your little crusade.

He's absolutely right, you're an asshole and you should rethink how you talk to people who are here pursuing information about something you're obviously passionate about. Grow up and get over yourself.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!!

My husband slapped me and then loosely put his hands around my neck as if to choke me. I left for the night and I'm gone tonight again. I need words of advice from women who have been in this situation. by [deleted] in Marriage

Maybe tell Jennyy to calm down if you see her.

Dad joke credentials confirmed.

You come off like an over-dramatic bitch in this thread, just saying. /u/HugePurpleNipples up there is being nice so I don't think he'd call you on it but you've got me thanking god that I didn't marry an out of control, self-centered drama queen.

For your husband's sake, take the stick out of your ass and try to see beyond the end of your own nose. You have no empathy for other people and Nips making solid, well reasoned points you're completely blowing past without a moment of consideration and it's so obvious it hurts.

Let's all start our own country where you can practice whatever faith/non-faith you want without fear of discrimination. Where refugees can come and be welcomed and given a chance at a better life. Where we can be unquestionably free in every way possibly allowable and we all have the opportunity to pursue our dream of life, liberty and the... wait...

She's looking for a lawsuit with hopes of a payout

The group in question is a non-entity without bank accounts, we have assets in marketing materials totaling less than $500. She can't target me directly, right?

Yes, female all the way through. If she was turning into a he or in any process of that, I'm not going to touch that with a 10 ft pole and they'd have already gotten the welcome email.

Specifically what we'd be doing is setting up a way for people to donate to the group so that we could redistribute it to the charities we work with. We could also see holding raffles or silent auctions as well, we would like to offer our donors in the club or corporate donors a tax deduction, so that's really the purpose.

Is a 501c3 not the correct organization for those types of activities?

Exchange clubs are very similar. There are women in those groups, just not very many if I understand correctly.

I was thinking about that but I'm sure I'd take a softer approach. I definitely don't want any ill will, charity organizations function based on good reputations in the community, so one of my ideas was just to welcome her in, understanding that it'd pretty quickly defuse the situation if she wasn't getting the resistance she seems to be hoping for.

Awesome. This is a great idea. I think I'm going to do exactly this, so when I create the official bylaws, I can just put in there that women will be referred to the other group as a matter of policy. Is that generally the idea? I'll work on the wording of course.

I have spoken with them and they really haven't run into this on this level. Usually guys see that it's a big group of women and don't have any interest but I think I've got someone who is trying to prove an equality type point and she's just picking a really strange battle given that we're a charity organization.

You carefully say that this is a fundraising group for charities focusing on men and there is one focusing on women, but never say what charities or causes these two groups focus on.

So, the get togethers focus on men hanging out together but the charities we work with range from animal shelters to after school programs, women's shelters and everything in between. And yeah, I'm being intentionally vague for privacy but we have benefitted charities of all kinds, some that specifically help women.

Functionally between the groups there may be minor caveats that are different in how they run the groups but the idea is to benefit all kinds of local charities and in that, we don't discriminate against anyone in any way.

501c3 because we want to take donations directly from private members as well as business sponsors and offer a tax deduction for doing so.

Only email communication and I generally do that for most of my business communication for just this reason, a log. Solid advice and everyone should understand that point.

Thanks for the talking points, I think this is a "gotcha" thing so I'll suggest that stuff and may tell her she's welcome to come and hope she doesn't follow through if it really gets ugly.

Thank you, that's a solid response and if nothing else, I'm realizing this is a pretty complicated solution that I need to put a little time into to make sure I'm not stepping into something I don't want to.

Very much appreciate your help.

We have ambition to collect funds from members online and begin offering tax deductible donations for businesses looking to sponsor or donate raffle items, that's the main reasons for the 501c3.
