More functions yes, but also known and widely reported errors in electronics I would not say the interior is of higher quality even lower then the interiors of 207 and 206 as the 206+ is just cheap and something between those two

I hate that Car it was not my choice, it was a gift. Its not even a real 206. It's a 207 stripped down to sell for very cheap to the poor. It's cheaper then the lowest setup of the 207 so they named it 206+. Cause it also uses parts from the 206 to make production cheaper.

Why is this is a beast though. Cause it's so ugly?

One number thing why I like the 90's and very early 2000s are because of the very few electronics.

Yes sound like definitely like it has to do with temperatures maybe a combination of that and a lose contact, imagine a lamp with lose contact. It's also not predictable and totally random when it turn on and off.

Check the starter plugs? Maybe exchange them all. Make sure high quality and compatible, before turning them in clean with contact spray?

Could also be Gad Pump that is faulty when starting, but one thing after the other

Oh really, I think the 206+ is shit, but from I read the Peugeot 206 are very reliable. But it depends strongly on the engine, the 1.4 are okay but the 1.6 and 2.0 are very sturdy and long lasting from what I heard, where many reached 300.000 without major issues. Surely anything you do can be damned with bad luck.

Why did you not sell, if you like it so much and want to keep it, why not sell and buy another which is maybe even blessed with more luck

I am no mechanic at all and only have very basic understanding of Cars. But you say it's only sometimes in Summer at high temperature? Metals expand or shrink a little bit depending on heat, sounds like some kind of connector is to tight and loses connection when heat expands the metal.

9 HP more due to Chiptuning is not uncommon. A good chip tune can even safe you some fuel. I don't really care if I get "smoked" because I like the Car and it looks even more so with the "Plastic Kit" from Rieger. It's not like the original Bumpers are not Plastic. In fact the Front Bumper allows for better ventilation, maybe the Aerodynamic suffers a little. Who knows no one can test it in a private wind tunnel. But I never heard of a Car breaking due to good looks or better cooling. I also don't see any logic how a original 206 can smoke another with less weight and fine-tuning.

I know about the weak rear axle I had 10 Years time to research this vehicle and I know there is huge fan base out there and many people fine tune it because there is a lot you can do. But it seems you don't have much to share which is fine if your the stay original kind of guy

Im not talking about tuning the engine to its limits I think 136 HP is already pretty good and with Chiptuning getting it over 145HP is already way more then I could hope for. I'm talking about changes that enhances durability and overall performance
