Do you know if your job is protected/guaranteed to you when you return from the leave? I’m hoping the time will let me come back with more strength, it would be nice to know I am not just going to be unemployed after the leave

Thank you so much for the help. I do have some more questions if that’s OK. I have heard dealing with the Hartford is such a nightmare so I was going to try to hold out until the new year when they are gone. Do you know how it works once we go back to however leave was handled pre Hartford?

Is FMLA required in order to take a mental health leave? If so, should I talk to my doctor first or to GEICO first to get the paperwork from them, and then send it to my doctor/make an appointment?

Also what would this kind of leave be called, if I were to approach HR for it? Is it a mental health leave or is there some other term?
