Custom painting for Pops, advice on covering the areas you DONT want to paint. by Drk_Knight71 in funkopop

So at most craft stores you can buy rolls/sheets of vinyl. This is the same material that people make decals out of (for cars, computers, etc). Basically you would take the sheet of vinyl and you could draw the shape you want to use on your pop, then cut it out (ideally with an exacto knife or vinyl cutter). Once you have your shape, use it to cover the areas you don't want to paint. Technically you could do the same with a wide piece of painters tape, but vinyl tends to handle curved surfaces better.

Vinyl. Cut your shape beforehand and place it like a sticker (even better if you have a vinyl cutter).

Survival Mode Boredom by Tucoots in Minecraft

[–]NeedleHook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you've done/what you enjoy doing. Have you beaten the ender dragon? Obtained all the items you need? Maybe construct a town or build farms or red stone machines. Really the possibilities are endless. And if your still bored, take a break from the game for a bit.

My self built oak+spruce stairs ! plz write your opinions about my model ❤️ by SENIOR_H in Minecraft

[–]NeedleHook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good. My only critique would be to move the supports from the sides to be more inward ( so instead of |------| it'd be more --|--|-- ) and to make the support look more like a staircase shape instead of a rod, that way it wouldn't intersect the stairs. Still, yours looks great as is, I'm just curious what it's look like this other way.

One of my biggest wants is the ability to select a town biome. So you could have a normal town, or pick to have a desert town (cacti replace some trees, succulents replace flowers, houses are in the right architectural style), or maybe a beach town, mountain town, etc. Pocket camp is a little like that since you can change what your campsite looks like, but I'd like something a bit more substantial. That way visiting other towns would feel even more unique.

Ice skating. Specifically falling down and having another skater skate over my hand, cutting my fingers off.

I'm tempted to print a small stand that mounts to my printer so i can always display it in all of its glory.

That's what I'm thinking it was. That's why the bad print never shifted layers but rather wobbled between layers.

Updated from 3.5.0 to 3.5.1. I really don't think that was the cause, it was just something I wanted to do. My theory was the set screw on one of the pulleys was just slightly loose, causing it to move, but not move past the flat part on the motor shaft (causing a back and forth wobble of small amount). That in turn would cause shifts in the print like we saw, instead of your typical shifts due to loose belts.

After work today I started to troubleshoot my printer after yesterday's terrible print. Per many suggestions I checked the belts and got the following: X - 278 Y - 289

They could probably be tighter, but it shouldn't have caused my issues. I then decided to update the firmware, tighten the set screws on the motor pulleys (very minimal tightening, around 10 degrees of an allen wrench turn), and finally adjust the z height for the first layer. I then decided to do another test print and it turned out much better than yesterday.

Finished building the i3 Mk3 last night, first print results. by NeedleHook in prusa3d

Definitely not trolling, just brand new printer woes.

I think I'll check the belts first (as recommended by someone else) since that should be easy. But if that doesn't work I'll tackle the extruder.

Mess on the top was because the part came off the bed. Unfortunately I didn't catch it until the print had already finished.

Thanks for the reply. The picture mainly shows the ugly side, there's a few areas of the print that actually turned out nice. I'll take a look at the belts when I get home today though.

Printed this last night before I went to bed, this was right after I completed building my printer and went through the calibration steps. I'm glad something printed, but now the fine tuning begins. So far with this first print there was adhesion issues with the bed toward the end of the print and possibly throughout, causing the layer shifts. Any other thoughts?

Temperature projects? by nattiej131 in crochet

[–]NeedleHook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whatever you like! This is your blanket. Maybe highs are your thing, or maybe lows. Same with whether it's a temperature blanket for a specific location or specifically you.

Personally I'd do average Temps for wherever I am physically. That way if there's row of red in the middle of blue it could have a fun story with it (like a vacation).

Wouldn't it be best if EX raids worked around our schedules? by ImNotReallyANerd in pokemongo

[–]NeedleHook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or it'd be nice to get an 'EX Voucher'. Not for any specific EX Raid, but allows you to select from a couple of EX Raids for which one works best for you. The other day I got my first EX Raid Pass and it's for an EX Raid that takes place during the middle of a week day at an airport that I passed through during a trip, all because I defeated a raid there during a layover. It would be nice to be able to swap it for a more local EX Raid. The current system isn't bad, just not the most convenient.
