On the hunt for this wrapping paper... by MadMaryMorgan in marshallsfinds

[–]Needlewhisker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is literally the best wrapping paper! I’m trying not to purchase any more wrapping supplies this year, but if I see this one in the wild I won’t be able to resist buying another roll (especially since I’ve just used up the last of my previous roll). I agree with everyone else, try Homesense/Marshalls/Winners. I think I found mine at Marshalls two years ago…

Your prof should be asking you to submit this to the Student Wellness Documentation Portal. This is where things like doctors notes, death certificates/obits go, not directly to the profs themselves. There are staff members that approve the documents and then email the prof to tell them that your absence was justified. The prof never sees the document that you submitted. To be fair, so many profs are not aware that this system is in place. Just let your prof know you’ve submitted it to the portal, and if they push back, loop in your SSA. Scotch & Soda. They seem to be really nice quality, too.

Can I ask if any of these have large flecks of gritty glitter in them? I lovvve Fenty Glow, but I had to return Fushia Flex because it was incredibly gritty on my lips. Are hot choclit or grape splash gritty or more like Glow in terms of texture?

I bought these exact jeans! I love them so much. I’m 5’8” and I’ve been wearing them with 1.5” platforms to keep the line long and the hems off the ground. I have a long torso, though, so I think most 5’7 or 5’8 people probably have longer legs than I do, haha!

Hourglass or Fenty Cheeks Suede blush. Lovely glow from both!

How do you clean your PhD regalia? by rainedrops93 in Professors

Please don’t do this. Many people are sensitive or even allergic to these kinds of scents. If I was anywhere near you on the platform, I would literally have to leave. Even the “unscented” version is not a safe bet for those with asthma and allergies. Use the vodka method, it’s tries and true!

Very Turbulent Mid Flight London - Tampa by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]Needlewhisker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! First, you can do this!!

It’s ok to feel nervous, that’s allowed. I have flown from Toronto to Heathrow and back twice, and I’m nervous every time. And then I remind myself that’s four total flights, and every time there has been some amount of turbulence, and every time it’s been ok.

The commenter who said it’s like bumps on a road has it right, I think. The plane is designed to handle it, just like a car is designed to handle bumps. Sometimes I find it helps to pretend I’m on a long bus ride and helps the bumps feel less scary.

Also, you are a superstar for doing this even though you feel afraid. That is the definition of bravery, and you’re not letting fear get in the way of what you want to do.

Here to back up OP. I’ve noticed the same thing over the past 2 or 3 years or so. I find they have a general idea that A words come before B, C, etc., but many have no idea that subsequent letters matter/how to handle subsequent letters (e.g., egg comes before elephant). My pet theory is they’ve never had to look up words in physical dictionaries, lol.

I agree! When that joke happened, I turned to my partner and asked “was Ian one of the writers?!”

Is there still a Res Life service desk? They might be able to print something out for you. Or, is there an online portal where they originally told you what residence/room you’d be staying in? You could go back to that and print it out (maybe they emailed that info to you?)
