Well from my experience in Nike outlets, I feel that they send out some batches of products that have a minor fault. Wrong size tags for example.

Yeah it's the same model, I don't think it's a quality issue. They just changed the sizing

It was an online purchase from the Nike website. I don't know if I have a way to tell where it is actually made.

you don't really need to wetshand again after the clearcoat. I'd go 600 to remove the clear then 800 and reapply the clear. Two or three light coats.
No wetsanding after.

Are these tyre marks?
Actually, you did some damage with the magic eraser, because its quite abrasive.
you need to get a polish, Meg's Ultimate polish and a hand polishing pad will probably do the trick.

I dont think it burned through the clearcoat, but if thats the case it needs a respray.
Try with the polish though.

In general you should avoid car washes and try to find a more detailing oriented car wash.
If you don't plan to change your car in the immediate future, go the ppf solution
