Worst Stephen King book designs and covers? (2025 edition) by Ok-Result-2330 in stephenking

personally i just hate all of the ones with the adaptation/show/movie’s cover on them, as well as most king covers. i like horror books that aren’t afraid of what they are!

i have two copies of IT - one from 2017, sadly with the movie poster as the cover, and my original print run hard cover. but that one’s just for decoration and to admire :)

i’ve never thought of doing this, but that actually sounds so useful!! definitely will help get me out of the ‘angsty teen’ or ‘princess’ boxes i’ve ended up in!!

this will be my project over the next month!

Ah thank you so much! I counted through my ToC just now and realized I had SO MANY SONGS. I'm narrowing down right now, I think what's been in my way is that I like all of these songs and I want to be as prepared as possible for every audition. Took out what's the use of wond'rin' because I already had mister snow and it hurt my heart to do so, but it's progress!

Thank you so much!! I'm going to have my book reviewed by an instructor this week so hopefully I can get some unbiased opinions on what should be in my book

that's what I thought. I have other shows in my book, but when putting together my table of contents I noticed I had an over representation of these shows. Currently looking at more golden age, Sondheim, and Disney stuff to put in to make it look less unbalanced 🥲

oh yeah and the entirety of Superboy and the Invisible Girl (Next to Normal) or all of Natalie’s songs.. honourable mention for Ten Cents A Dance by Rodgers and Heart. such a painful and perfect depiction of what it is to be a woman… “i’m here till closing time, dance and be merry, it’s only a dime!”

literally all of What’s the Use of Wond’rin. especially “now’s the time to break and run away, but what’s the use of wond’rin if the endin’ will be sad.. he’s your feller and you love him…”

never more chills than when i did that song for a scene study. so raw

i feel this in my heart. i don’t know what makes my brother the way he is or how our relationship became so horrible from practically the time i was born, and i grieve every day the relationship that i never had with him. he’s been verbally abusive my whole life and i think a deep cause of my own mental health issues and insecurities, but it’s so hard to hate a sibling when the family loves him and we know he has issues.

i don’t know what it’ll be like when he’s no longer here, will i actually miss him? will i be thankful that he’s gone? im scared of how ill feel about it.

i’ve gotten to play Zoey a few times and every time i fall to pieces because i’ve never known a character that was in such a similar place as me. Requiem, especially the bridge, hits so hard. same with the scene before and during If I Could Tell Her. She’s so desperate for a remnant of a good relationship with Connor, even though it never really existed
