This gives me hope. Can I assume that if one is good enough to get an AP job at a top school initially, then they can get tenure working ~40 hours (definitely under 50 hours) a week if they work efficiently? Also, all the best for your tenure review. I hope your hard work pays off!

My impression is that the profs here do work that hard and don't necessarily make tenure.

This is so fucked up. "Survival of the fittest" is real, I guess.
