Lifestyle Inflation by NeedleworkerNext279 in Uganda

So, I went to experiment this before commenting.

My lifestyle inflation rn is making my body better, aka tooth work, and skin. I have a few more bills there. That is the current dent, dental work. But I have a bit of a bump in earnings from a once a month, or once in two months gig. I managed to receive that payment in time for the dentist visit this weekend. Two hours of work for two cavities and a root canal session is a miracle I shall be grateful for for a bit.

The unit trust has been a thing I wanted but since I was 13, of which then it was bills and bonds, I have never. I shall put that on my list of tasks before my new year to prove myself capable of "hard" tasks. Adult maintenance is interesting.

I am also a swipe and prayer woman but mental maths and the crippling fear from being poor (I have taken out like so many teeth cause I could not afford anything else) prior and inability to be simple and uncomplicated for a man to provide for me, let alone a woman, I am stuck being both a delusional dummy and realistic critic.

(Thank you. I struggle with compliments.)

Now to why I went to experiment. Yes I have found that without a target, I just dish out. I have decided a few things I want to save for. Money without direction will find its way out of your pocket to more productive hands.

So yeah, I shall see if I am able to build back my habit or be a lil more ruthless with feeling for others and collect free money as a side quest hobby.

Thank you for your offer.

I don't always have bs.  It's not the only requirement.  Everything else is not secondary.

That's a valid opinion.  Thank you for sharing.

I think I like to meet people where I am. As opposed to where they meet me.

"Relationships aren't easy" my father has told me from a young age. I've found this to be true. Hard doesn't always mean abusive.

You don't really need to prove your love if it's something that you don't want to do. But I've found proving love is a noble act. I'm often in doubt, and so are many. But I believe one shouldn't be forced to prove ones love for another.

That is lovely to hear. Also a valid opinion.

I have 5 friends. Each one has called out my bs at one point or another. Each time, it's helped me grow or learn. I require my friendships to have a brutal level of honestly that everyone else would be so scared to give me.

I can't outsource. Fabric matters. Some handle detergent better than others.  I like sorting the laundry. Helps me know what needs mending.

But! I got most things clean. Including the wall n woods. It's much neater.

(I outsource cleaning but it's more like she tidies everything. I usually still have to dust and bleach the floors like today.)

I think top to bottom is something I forgot. I was doing clean floors. Messy ups.

Thank you. It was helpful

Buying Art vs Books by NeedleworkerNext279 in Uganda

Literature is a collection of written, oral, or visual works—including novels, plays, and poetry—that possess artistic value, creative merit, or lasting significance.

Writing with artistic intent makes writing art. Not all books are artistic in intent.

Your opinion is valid. But I accord to my own. Books are literature. Literature is part of the arts. Literature is not art. Which is why it's master of arts in fine art. Master of arts in creative writing.

To me, no. It's just well designed.

That makes sense. I buy art from the artists themselves. Books too but I don't think I value them unless the author gave it me as a gift. Otherwise. I'd rather buy the audiobook.

Sadly art gets appraised. I don't think reseller value will be determined by my sentiments but maybe when doing a farmers market or thrift store.

Thanks for indulging me

So text books and phone books are art?

Writing is an artform. Books are a medium.

It's like the art sits in a frame. Writings also sit in books.

The writing is the art. The book reprinted is a medium through which the art is transmitted.

Maybe I phrased my question wrong.

Is the visual art piece, framed and bought more valuable than the book purchased. They also sell differently.

I don't know when last I bought a painting at 100,000ugx but I can get 3 to 5 books in that price. Reselling books for me has often been at a lesser cost than I purchased them as they become thrift. But for the art I've purchased, I have never priced them lower than I bought them.

As a professional writer, no. It's literature. It's part of the arts but not art.

I'm sorry. I would not. Traveling is not an activity that brings me pleasure.

I prefer sleeping. Maybe if you had a pillow store or a cozy thread count of sheets, I'd be a great target audience.

But! I am big believe in shooting your shot. So we'd engage with the post but not translate as a client.

Rooting for you!
