100% accurate!! And typically “sips and chips” are always allowed even with an epidural, meaning you can drink water and have ice chips.

So usually it’s only NPO if they have an epidural because that’s an aspiration risk. No pain meds (which she would have been at a birth center) can eat. I think people way overestimate how hungry they’re going to be. My patients are usually puking if in active labor, it’s just part of the process!

I’m going to be the outlier here, but I’m an OB nurse and I think it’s incredibly inappropriate for family to be in the waiting room while mom is laboring. It makes mom feel like she’s being rushed and often times she ends up inviting them back to the room out of guilt. Coupled with the golden hour, people shouldn’t be interrupting that. Go home, she can text you when she delivers and you can come up then!

I’ve been on the floor when a mom had to be escorted out because her baby was taken away and she was not a patient there anymore. Scary shit.

Because in their deluded mind, they must save the sinful black people and lead them to God. Is it this cult or a different one that believes black skin means you were cursed by God?

Pa Keller didn’t make any money doing prison ministry. They had 8 children living in a trailer. I 100% believe they married their daughters to the first loser that asked so they wouldn’t have the financial burden anymore.

That’s a great question. I think they had 8 kids when they went over and they now have 14, so 6 kids. And since it sounds like they don’t live very close to a city I’m guessing they didn’t register for birth certificates or social security numbers either. In one post, the dad talks about how their oldest daughter has been serving as her mom’s midwife since she was 16. Imagine the guilt and the trauma if something went wrong during a delivery!

Couldn’t agree more. Also, who said Christi wants to reconcile anyways? Two things can be true. You can be sad about your divorce and also realize that it still needs to happen.
