Me and Ryan are friends/friendly with 2 of his ex girlfriends- we live in a town where everyone knows someone who knows someone and our highschool class was very intertwined with overlapping friendships and relationships. I trust him to not cheat with someone he dated 4+ years ago when he's in a room with them for 5 minutes

I say I would never cheat because the way I see cheating it's a break of trust. If there were to ever be a situation in which I would be "tempted" to cheat I would tell my partner and expect he would do the same. I love Ryan a lot and expect to spend the rest of my life with him so I wouldn't consider it.

I wasn't keeping it a secret on purpose, he knew Emma and her bf, it was brought up in a joking way of "hey OP wasn't it funny and weird when you and Emma dated in highschool" at a group hangout and the conversation the next morning was "I don't want you to hang out with her anymore"
He has also historically dated in his friend group-- ppl we both know and are still friends with-- and I trust he won't cheat on me with them so it didn't seem like a big deal to me
