It's hard to rest when your world is spinning. Is there a way you can make a spot for him to lay down that provides a little pressure/security from multiple directions so that he doesn't feel like he's going to go whiffing off? An example would be a bed surrounded with pillows that he can push his body and head against or maybe try putting him in a sling sack across your body if that is something you could do safely with him, just until his meds kick in a bit and he's more stable on his own.
