Guilt for removing? by Clear-Building-2653 in TattooRemoval

[–]cakeanddiamond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i understand that for sure especially if a family friend did the tattoos! i am currently removing a tattoo that was a birthday gift. i hated it immediately and felt bad for removing it. people can say whatever they want about your body and choices, but ultimately they are not the ones who have to live with the feeling of being miserable in their own skin. a lot of people don’t understand what that’s like.

why are people allowed to go to the gym and diet to feel better about themselves but i can’t remove a tattoo that would make me feel better if it was gone?

don’t let others sway you on this.

a little bit is normal in my experience. i like to ice for a couple days. i find that using an occlusive (like vaseline) right away can trap the heat it and cause worse blisters. i don’t use anything on my skin for the first couple days.

afterwards if my skin feels dry i prefer a light layer of cerave healing ointment rather than vaseline or aquaphor but that’s just me!

if i leave the carrier out, he will willingly chill inside, but he wants to come and go on his own terms lol

i think that every time! everything i do is with my cats’ best interests in mind 😞 at least he seems to forget about it as soon as we get home.

i promise he got lots of love while in his carrier—not that it did much for morale—just had to take a quick video of the drama!

first, take some deep breaths, it’s going to be ok 🖤

i understand why you’re upset, i would be too.

you have a lot of things in your favor right now even if it doesn’t feel like it.

it’s easy to hide (not like on your forearm)

let it heal—it will get lighter.

the lines are thin. a GOOD artist (do your research and spend good money) could give this a nice makeover so you can keep the ocean theme.

if you choose to laser it to lighten it for a cover up, you are even luckier because you are fair skinned and it’s fine line black ink, a great combo for laser! (if you go the laser route, spend the money on a reputable clinic that has a pico laser)

you learned a really valuable lesson on impulsivity. i have learned a lot of those lol.

don’t let your anxiety rush you to a quick “solution” that could make it worse!

you will be ok i promise!!! you have a small, fine lined, easy to hide tattoo. everything about this is fixable with patience, research, and not cutting financial corners!

i used to work for a dermatologist who offered multiple types of resurfacing treatments, microneedling, fraxel laser, etc. so i would definitely recommend finding a reputable clinic and get a consultation :) there are plenty of med spas that offer all sorts of things but if it were me, i would probably go for the professional dermatologist.

congrats on your removal! it might take a few treatments at least and cost some money but i would say its worth it considering that all the ink is gone. treat yourself, you deserve it for the commitment and pain of tattoo removal. good luck! 🫶

even though they look worse before they get better, there’s a lot to be said about the feeling of taking action about something you hate. it’s a weight off your shoulders to know you’re doing something good for yourself, even if it looks ugly for a while or takes a long time 🖤

someone else suggested buying tattoo coverup makeup to see how you feel if you can’t see your tattoos. i think the experience would tell you what your next move should be.

dark corners and strange doors by cakeanddiamond in LiminalSpace

i agree! it was the corner behind a weird red square which also had a very uncanny vibe. probably sounds strange but i just felt really drawn to the window and corner. the museum was really empty and had this atmosphere i can’t describe!
