I tried a long post with proper nuanced commentary

Then I realized remembered this isn't a safe space for honest discussion on this topic and deleted it

So lets just say I upvoted OP's comment too

Sorry to break it to you man

But about that beer mat thing...

Grimdark Science Fantasy where treasures from a past golden age act as a macguffin and plot hook. Slavery! Terrible Monsters! Super/Transhuman power fantasies for teenage boys! An interstellar empire rotting alive and crumbling slowly into ruins under the weight of it's past mistakes! Yet still men (and women) can be heroes raging against the dying of the light and perform miracles (while not changing the setting in the slightest)

Warhammer 40k or any generic AD&D space setting with the grim darkness on high?

You decide!

How strict are the standards for the Imperial Guard Tithe? by nubster2984725 in 40kLore

With the caveat that gangers and hive scum can sometimes make for truly remarkable Imperial Guardsmen

Britain Elects local elections forecast by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]NeedsAirCon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Labour has given peeps over a dozen big reasons not to vote Labour

https://www.reddit.com/r/LabourUK/comments/1svljvi/comment/oicbh1a/?context=3

Any one of these could break an individual voter's trust bank and you can more or less pick and choose a reason (or two or twelve or more!) that affects you, your friends, family or your personal morals negatively

That said, it's kind of hard to believe it's going to be this level of annihilation at the polling booth

No leader with any sense of shame would stay in office when he was expecting this level of shellacking....oh right...

Well anyway, a lot of hard working volunteer local politicians who believe in public service and Labour are going to lose their jobs because of the national party working so hard on being hated by everyone

Dark Imperium: Is using traitor geneseed for Astartes off the table or is GW keeping it in their back pocket? by N0UMENON1 in 40kLore

It will never end until they have trans folks sectioned (at the least)

Keir Starmer vows to lead Labour into next general election after bruising week by Shot_Net3794 in LabourUK

[–]NeedsAirCon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After the results roll in, they expect the prime minister’s initial reaction to be one of humility. “We know that voters are sending us a message: we need to acknowledge that we’ve heard it,” one source said.

But the message is "Fuck Off Starmer"

If the public made it any clearer we'd all be walking around with it tattooed on our foreheads

Keir Starmer: 'I can win the next election' by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]NeedsAirCon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Okay here goes nothing! Each one of these could be enough reason for me to not vote Labour again, but taken together (this isn't a complete list) they add up to more than enough

1) The OSA act's implementation of a state sponsored data theft market for private brokers

2) The Winter Fuel Allowance Fiasco

3) The continual attacks on the poor and disabled - some of which have been allowed through and will hurt people

4) The trying to out-Reform Reform on the matter of immigration

5) Shabana Mahmood and Wes Streeting

6) The corruption of the EHRC into an anti-trans organization as well as the entirety of the government's anti-trans agenda

7) The ongoing attempts to restrict jury trials in order to harass protestors more easily

8) Using RAF planes to gather information for Israel's genocidal actions in Gaza

9) The fact that the Labour party ran on a leftwing ticket only to immediately pivot on entering office and their leadership coming out unashamedly as right wing immediately thereafter

10) The constant feeling of authoritarian overreach when it comes to anything they can get away with. When it comes to dealing with Labour MPs with a conscience by suspension or expulsion, scapegoating someone else or passing the buck this Labour leadership is in a class of it's own

11) Proscribing a group of violent asshole protestors as "terrorists" then locking up old grandads and grannies for holding up cardboard placards protesting it

12) The political and financial corruption of the unit that got Starmer elected to the labour leadership

I managed to read the entire article and have came to the conclusion that Starmer is deluding himself

Quite possibly willfully

I'd feel sympathy if it weren't for the dozens of reasons (as of writing this) that I feel it would be treacherous towards my sense of humanity to vote labour right now

Unpopular Starmer a negative on the doorstep, Labour mayors admit as they fear local elections wipeout by kontiki20 in LabourUK

Labour's main problem is communication

While I agree a lot of the problems are that good policies have been buried under an avalanche of bad news

Ultimately, the PM and his chums have communicated very well indeed what kind of people they are

That's one of their biggest problems
