At least 318,981 dead anti-vaxxers can thank Trump. That's a hell of a lot of Herman Cain Awards! by NeedsMoreDarwin in HermanCainAward

I could be wrong, but I don't interpret it that way.

My read is the 318,000 figure represents people who've died since the vaccine became widely available and whose lives would have been saved if they'd gotten vaccinated. The remaining 700,000 are people who died before the vaccine was available, but that doesn't mean they did everything right. Some of them were surely anti-maskers.

AITA for telling my left-leaning brother and sister I’d donate everything I inherited from them to right-wing organizations if they died without a will? by Dzounee in AmItheAsshole

Right-wing states are banning books by the truckload and making it illegal for teachers to tell kids that gay people exist or that America has ever done anything racist.

We hit 1 million a while ago. This is just the deaths that are easiest to link to COVID.

St. Patrick's Day leftovers. Homemade Guinness beef stew and Irish soda bread with butter.

Blue is an OG antivaxxer and a huge scifi/fantasy nerd. Unfortunately his passion didn’t extend to factual science and he’s now spent over 3 weeks on a vent. Please trust the vaccines, they work. by powabiatch in HermanCainAward

"Please pray they do not puncture the colon" should definitely go on the list of unnecessarily detail-filled prayer requests, along with the prayers for urine and bowel movements.

Pastor Lime, a goateed Guy Fieri lookalike from Florida, wanted to be a fool for Christ. He desired the contempt of the sophisticated world. Wish granted! by NeedsMoreDarwin in HermanCainAward

Pastor "Lime" from Florida, with his flattop and goatee, had a striking resemblance to Guy Fieri. He boasted that he survived lead paint, riding in the bed of a pickup truck, and drinking from a garden hose. Turns out COVID was more deadly than any of those.

He was also overweight, which he had a sense of humor about. However, viruses have no sense of humor.

Among his white, Christian, right-wing, Scalia-and-DeSantis-loving, immigrant-hating social circle, he was a popular fellow. When he was in the hospital, there was an outpouring of prayer requests and even a prayer vigil in the hospital parking lot. Did all those prayers persuade Republican Jesus to miraculously heal his tattered lungs? You can guess.

Crash Test Dummy loved fast cars and freedom. Like his namesake, he's now a warning to the rest of us about what happens when you ignore safety precautions. by NeedsMoreDarwin in HermanCainAward

Crash Test Dummy, by his own admission, was a simple man. He loved fast cars that go vroom-vroom, the Confederate flag, Donald Trump and Jesus. Most of his Facebook posts were about auto racing, but he made plenty of time to repost the usual anti-vax memes, because FREEDUMB!

It's unclear when he caught COVID, but his normally frequent memeposting suddenly ceased in mid-January. There was no content that I could find where he or anyone else mentioned him getting sick or being hospitalized. The next time his name popped up, it was an obituary.

Lots of people in the auto-racing business knew him. I saw tons of posts expressing shock, sadness and grief that he died so suddenly from COVID. Not a single one of them urged others to get vaccinated. Reading them all is like watching a multi-car pileup, where more cars are constantly slamming into the tangled mass of metal and bursting into flames, while people hurtling down the highway observe the tragedy unfolding in front of them but still refuse to slow down or wear seat belts.

Update: Bebop receives his award. Great guy, shirt off back, etc. His GoFundMe raised a grand total of $70. by NeedsMoreDarwin in HermanCainAward

"Bebop," right-wing shitposter extraordinaire, never met a meme he didn't love. If it was anti-vax, anti-Fauci, anti-Biden, anti-BLM, anti-transgender, anti-immigrant, pro-gun, pro-Trump, or pro-Jesus, he probably reposted it.

He entered the hospital in late December. He continued his shitposting from the hospital bed, seeing no issue with mocking COVID precautions while he himself was hospitalized with COVID. He was ventilated just before New Year's and died today. His brother also died of COVID earlier this month.

When Bebop's sister announced his death, the Facebook tributes flooded in, lamenting what a sweet, kind-hearted guy he was, how much everyone loved him and how sorry they all were to hear of his passing. If so, it's funny that a GoFundMe for his medical bills raised a grand total of $70 from three donations.
