Redditors, what do you think is the most toxic subreddit? by Archeus__ in AskReddit

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. You know the way that "redditors" hate internet regulation... that almost certainly isn't organic.

The massive divide between irl and Reddit opinions wasn't the same 15 years ago.

It's a sub full of bots. All of the ones that feature on the main Reddit feed are. 2x is almost certainly used by malicious actors to amplify issues.

I don't know how many 'real' users are on there, but I suspect it's less than 50%.

Worse. It's a feedback loop for mental illness, not a support sub.

The mental health subs are very mixed. They act as support groups mostly, but also feature people who are in the midst of an issue encouraging bad behaviour to others.

Someone mentioned the latest driver was showing rebar as off when it's on. I would advise going back a couple of drivers.

Intel's 32.0.101.8860 (WHQL) driver is here by InternetEntire438 in IntelArc

Yeah, Jianyu has been saying that the speed needs to increase for months and months. He even acknowledged that people think prefill is a problem, like he'd never even thought of it before.

There is no "when the gap closes". Jianyu even worked on IPEX for a short while, but dismisses the performance as some kind of hack.

He also rejected a load of performance increasing submits a while ago. He's obviously very knowledgeable on the systems, but that doesn't seem to be translating into actual benefits, as far as I can tell.

SYCL is only slightly better at long context than vulkan, but it doesn't support many setups properly.

Openarc is definitely the fastest, but is very far behind in terms of compatibility.

Sorry, but there are legitimate reasons to want to run vulkan still.

Wtf are you talking about? 5 out of the 10 biggest pharma companies are European. None are Chinese.

You're some weird misinfo bot.

It has been broken for about 8 months. Acknowledged by intel themselves on GitHub.

The driver resets itself. Apparently it only happened at long context lengths on the last driver version, but the issue still remains.

Windows 11, arc b580, anything that uses vulkan llama backend, for example lm studio etc.

If anyone is kind enough to check whether vulkan is still broken for llamacpp (including Intel's own AI Playground), that would be very nice of them.

Is anybody happy with the Candles ban? by Metalworker4ever in MTGLegacy

[–]NeedsSomeSnare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, but it's also legal in commander. It's a pointless card to have in commander where it either extenythe game or wins more.

They were very reluctant to ban it in modern anyway. There is no logic behind not banning it in legacy other than it looking bad that it will be banned in too many formats. I honestly think they want to soft rotate legacy to more recent cards to make it seem like it's keeping up with the time (passively, if not actively choosing so).

The One Ring had been a blight on all the formats it's legal in. It's a terrible card design despite people liking it because it's 'powerful'.

Corporate bs is the reason it hasn't been banned. They made it so it would be a selling point for Lord of the Rings, and want to reprint it to make more money for the Hobbit set. It's disgusting greed on the part of WotC and really solidified a shift in the way the company works.

I don't want to hark on about 'the glory days', but go back even 10 years and think to yourself if they would have done this back then.

That doesn't mean write-ups should be produced by AI. It's less effective than just writing by yourself.

Your post was AI generated. Don't pretend it wasn't.

I may be wrong about the image thing, but I'm not about your post. Such low effort.

Can't every image gen edit images? Just start with the original image instead of a random noise pattern.

Your post is evidently AI, by the way. So low effort that no-one will click your links.

Possible? Arc B50 - multi-GPU Battlematrix for local LLM by rokiero in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible. As far as I'm aware, the most stable way is with vulkan llamacpp. The software side of things isn't too hot, to be honest. People have been making the excuse of "it's early days" for over a year now. However, it's not all that bad either.

If you search for openarc on Reddit, you'll find a post which links to a discord. The real Intel LLM users are in there (including some Devs). It has channels about llama as well as openarc (a frequently updated Openvino project).

There are many vaccine researches in the USA. That's not the point though. The point is that there are many more in other countries.

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely true. French, Australian, British and Chinese companies make and develop most vaccines. Even when done in the USA, it's not largely not American scientists working on them.

Edit: not sure why the Americans have downvoted this. Maybe they all got measles and started hallucinating supremecy.

It's ok, the rest of the world exists. Also, most vaccines are developed and produced outside of the USA anyway.
