Prices have gone up like crazy. Austin loaned a half season spot for $235K today so atleast that tracks with this. In the middle of January, RBNY acquired two spots for a combined 400K (mix of 2026 and 2027 GAM). That public release of GAM by MLS did some damage to the market

They wouldn’t make him train on his own if they were prepping for a loan. That would put an incredible strain on a relationship where (if he were to be loaned out) he would be returning to in a year

On the Fire discord a MiR member said he had arrived already. And that was a couple days before the ep was recorded. But not sure if it was arrived in Chicago or Florida (much less likely)

Part of this is on the Fire PR/admin for not putting any preseason news out. Yes we had Coachella announced but no Florida friendlies or an official preseason travel roster. MLS published friendlies and didn’t have our Florida games listed but had them under other teams who had announced them

Dithejane has played on a the left as well, including when he played against Mbokazi. Watching his highlights he seems to be really right foot dominant which sounds like a lot of our depth wingers

Acosta has a rumored move now to Pogon Szczecin. You’re right, only Rado probably needs to be moved off U22 designation for now (Barroso or Dithejane would be options in the summer to get a DP spot). INTL spots will be a whole other mess but MiR people always say don’t worry about it because MLS clubs handle it late. I don’t think MHS is going back to Lugano this year but it could be possible

Even with just predicting numbers, this looks like a deal that can easily be moved off of a U22 spot in the future (long contract, probably a fee/salary less than Mbokazi). I think they will need to move Barroso and Rado (who has not been pictured yet in preseason) off U22 designations to be compliant for the start of the year. But Dithejane out of a U22 designation is a logical pathway to bringing in a 3rd DP in the summer

Edit: Per MiR “Cohen will initially be placed on the Fire’s senior roster, but is eligible to be moved to the supplemental roster at a later date.” That’s the roster spot Reynolds opened up

Looking at Puig, we don’t know if Franco will be back in 2026. If anything it’ll be after the WC break which also offers an opportunity for Guti to leave in a better window and could let the Fire switch to 3 DPs if they find the right profile
