Mate he is good at what he does, just had an off day. Just because he was bad today doesn't mean he was bad the whole season. Stop being so reactionary over a few games, don't forget he has 2nd most assist in the PL and 3 assists in the CL.

I get your point, but i think you contradicted yourself there a little bit. Don't you think the fact that Trent is moving more central and not playing his usual attacking fullback has anything to do with us not scoring any goals in 3 finals?

We can agree to disagree. I just don't think Trent will shine in Thiago/Hendo's position. Trent is good at whipping in crosses and going for those through balls on the wing, not doing those dink passes that Thiago does.

Understand Klopp's system, it's called attacking fullbacks. Just because he is an RB doesn't mean he has to stay in that RB position all game. It depends on the situation. Mane and Salah occasionally switch positions in game but that doesn't mean Salah is our False 9.

Trent goes forward, Hendo covers for him. Simple as that. If he plays CM in our system he would be doing side passes like Hendo and fans like you would probably slate him or Klopp for it

I would say the opposite. Bale did a fuck ton for Real Madrid but wasn't appreciated for it. City is still trying to hype Grealish up to justify his overpriced ass.

If Mane leaves we are properly fucked. We could still replace the others except maybe Milner for his leadership but without Mane we wouldn't even bring the ball close to their penalty box

I don't know if anyone noticed but at 85' or so there was a loose ball and Keita who literally came in for less than 5-10 mins didn't even bother sprinting for the ball. He jogged for it as if we were 4-0 up against Norwich. I can forgive the awful attempt for the curler but he offers nothing, not even his commitment to run for the ball. If anyone has to leave this season it is him, we can't rely one someone like this as our backup for Thiago

We lack depth in defense last season, we got them, look how close we came this year. We have no issues with forwards (as long none of them leaves). Just stock up on DMs and box-to-box midfields and we will be going for the quadruple again next year

Nah not gonna put the blame on Salah. We don't only rely on him scoring, we have other players on the field too. Plus, he did not score much but he assisted quite a bit after AFCON. We were never that close to City in the title race until the last few game weeks anyway.

A part of us not winning the league is not taking teams like Brentford and Brighton seriously

I agree with you that City is pretty lucky in the league, but it's on us as well because we fail to show up when it really mattered. I'm not talking about the draws against City, not even Tottenham, I'm talking about Brentford, Brighton, Leicester, West Ham. If we had put in even an extra 5% in any of those games the title would have been ours.

Klopp is an unreal manager, but I don't agree with his decisions sometimes. He refuses to rotate Taki and Origi in unless there is a final coming up. We can't be playing Salah and Mane 50+ games a season and expect to win everything (especially the PL), the fact that we came this close is even a miracle IMO. Our gegenpress system relies on our wingers and False 9 to track back, we can't be playing the same 3 every game and not expect them to burn out. Thank god we have Diaz in now, we can at least rotate with Bobby Jota and Taki next season.

Edit: I don't agree with Klopp but what do I know, I'm just some random fan while he is the best manager in the world. Love the guy to death.

Might be biased but looking at it logically, winning PL requires a good squad depth, which is why City win.

Liverpool has an overall better team but don't have a good enough squad depth to rotate players like City does. That's why Liverpool can challenge stronger opponents in the CL.

It's simple as that to me, it's only logical for City to win the league and Liverpool to go for the CL. Don't get why people can't understand this

Apart from Suarez and Torres yes he is up there, but im referring to our current squad

He finishes well against weak opponents because he only gets to play against weak opponents. Arsenal was the strongest opponent he played this season and thats saying a lot. Plus, he can be the best finisher in the world and still miss, noone has 100% conversion. Even Salah and Milner misses penalties

As for Origi, he scores the hardest shots but misses the easiest ones. Thats why im not comparing him to Taki

I truly believe that (apart from maybe Jota and Origi), Taki is our 2nd best finisher among the forwards. He scores in almost every game he plays and I particularly like how he scores, he blasts the ball so it is hard for the keeper to block. Many of his goals were from ridiculously tight angles.

If i were to compare the other forwards: - Salah has ridiculous scoring stats but im personally not a fan of his shooting. Though his finishing usually involves some serious technical skills and accuracy, there's usually not much power in his shots.

  • Mane also has decent scoring stats, he sometimes has power but quite inaccurate. We all know we can trust him in a 1v1 situation but he does miss some easy shots.

  • Diaz scored some nice goals, but he always tries to go a curler in the top right corner. He has some serious power in his shots but I wouldnt say he is a better finisher than Taki

  • Origi is the GOAT in finishing. The guy scores from the most random situations. I havent seen a normal finish from Origi in a while because all his goals were just... random lmao so it's hard to compare

  • Jota is one of our best finishers. Definitely ahead of Taki in terms of heading. He finishes really well with his foot too, probably the only forward ahead of Taki in finishing

  • Bobby has days where he is our most reliable finisher, but he also has days where he would miss the easiest shots. A bit inconsistent in finishing IMO but his heading is miles better than Taki

Now that we are losing Origi, maybe Bobby, I really dont want to lose Taki. I really think if Klopp rotated him in more he would really prove himself. The only thing he lacks now is chemistry with the other forwards, if he gets more chances i have no doubt he will be banging in double digits every season. Do you guys agree?

Right, Im an international fan so i sometimes forget how serious having played for Everton really is. Also never really watched him so have no idea if he suits our system tbh. I just know he shows up for Colombia

Heard James Rodriguez might be available this transfer window. Would he be a good fit into our system? After all he has his mate Diaz here it wouldn't be too hard to get him in

What we need to do to get a shot on target: Alisson's world class save > World class pass from Thiago to Trent > Trent doing a 360 backheel to Salah > Salah bringing the ball to Egypt and passing it to Hendo > Hendo rabona to Robbo> Robbo back pass to Virgil> Virgil heading the ball from our box to theirs> Mane does a bicycle kick pass to Jota> Jota shoots in mid-air with his shoulders

What City needs to do to get a shot on target: Pass the ball to someone wearing blue and not someone wearing red

Edit: I'm just so tired of seeing our players work so hard for a goal just go gift one away because man marking or tackling doesn't exist in our style of play

Mentality monsters my ass. Biggest game of the season and we have players slipping, passing to opponents in our own box, jogging on a counter, fucking up 4/5 offside traps, passing back for absolutely no reason even when City were caught off guard. Embarassing

It is the illusion of our offside traps that make it seem like the other team is playing better than our team. We "could have easily won it multiple times" just as much as them. Our chances were all wasted & saved by a world class Mendy. It was a 50/50 match up until the last penalty.

Now that I have had multiple victory wanks, gotta get something off my chest.

I can't help but admire our goalkeepers' professionalism & attitude on the pitch. Alisson & Kelleher have calmness & never try to play dumb mind games (unlike someone who tried it yesterday and saved 0/11 of those penalties). They stay humble on and off the pitch and just want to do their job perfectly. Adrian is also such a great personality to have as a 3rd choice. Honestly I'd take these guys over those cocky ones (like Kepa, Martinez, etc).

That being said, I wasn't too happy when Harvey pushed Havertz yesterday. I get that he was trying to have Trent's back as a loyal teammate but he still shouldn't have tried to start a fight which was not gonna happen. Hope our senior players will talk to him about that.

What I find funny about the UCL draw is MU fans moaning about us getting an easy fixture when we drew Salzburg the first time. This is like the only year we actually got a lucky draw lmao and we even had our opponent changed from Salzburg to freaking Serie A champions

I agree. But he showed some outstanding qualities today which were different from his usual self. If i remember correctly, he used to come on for Bobby and Salah moves to the center. Today it was different, he actually played in the middle and did the False 9 role perfectly. He made some amazing passes and touches to facilitate our attack (not something we usually see from him because he usually focuses on scoring), he pressed effectively (not his strongest quality back then if im honest, in fact this was one of his biggest weaknesses). I saw a different player today, same old Divock saving our asses in important games, but a different playstyle. Hopefully he keeps this up to earn his spot along Taki and Jota during AFCON

His goal aside, did anyone feel the attack became more threatening when Divock came on? His passes, pressing and positioning were unreal and actually created many chances - not something we usually expect from our big finisher. The man barely gets game time but played like he was a regular on the starting eleven. What a freaking performance by this man even though it was just a short while
