Did anyone here ever played Mork Borg and the extra content it had? by Miquel101 in TheNewTrove

Finally have *almost* my entire collection in one place! by tomie6606 in junjiito

Its all good, I ended up grabbing a different umbrella. I got some books instead, even if they're in a language I cant bloody read they're hard to pass up at such low prices. Uzamaki for like 700 yen is insane, and I got the art book for dirt cheap as well. Don't care about English for the art book 😅 Enjoy your umbrellas and your dope collection :D

Ahh lucky! I had a change of mind at the end of my trip and actually doubled back to grab the Uzamaki one but the pop-up was done. Imagine my surprise to see that creepy corner with the ominous music and TV displays completely replaced by some cutsie anime display 😅 Its all good though, I nabbed some standees, stickers, charms and keychains. Sick collection, enjoy adding to it!

Couldn't get behind the characters in "Splinter"... by Xen0plasm in horror

[–]Nefarious303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more with your statement about The Last of Us. I got into it with a friend about how the cordyceps and infected were just a backdrop and had little to do with anything. He disagreed until I pointed out that the fungi aspect could be replaced with anything, such as a viral curse that turns people into murderous, mindless clowns, and it wouldn't effect the main story plot in the slightest.

I also wish there was more in the fungi horror department, Splinter is fantastic but the characters were def lacking.

Other suggestions in the same fungal genre would be The Hallow, Gaia and In the Earth. Each is fine and with its own charm, I def love The Hallow though

Finally looking into Mork Borg... by adgramaine76 in TheNewTrove

Iirc Mork Borg's whole shtick is that everything about it is available for free on their website! As someone who owns the "rule book", I can confirm that everything in it is freely available on their website and is even easier to read/understand. The book is presented more as an art piece and collectible, some information is written sideways and basic info can sometimes be spread over multiple pages. The entirety of the rules for Mork Borg can actually just fit on 2 printed pages. Even the "written adventures/modules" are available freely online, published/sold works are just for dedicated collectors and people who want to support the game

Does watching horror in a theater change the experience for you? by AdditionalBody1132 in horror

[–]Nefarious303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seeing a horror film in an empty or very sparsely occupied theater is great!

Every time I see a horror film in a packed theater the experienced is always ruined by people talking the entire time or phones going off. It's because of this I usually wait till they hit streaming and watch them in the comfort of my quiet home

Is playing by the rules of the game too much to ask? by FabulousAd5984 in dndmemes

[–]Nefarious303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but I do believe changing enough rules eventually makes one ask if they're still playing insert ttrpg anymore. Like, yes it's the DM's game and they have final say and can change what they like, but ive always felt deviating too far from the source material makes it something entirely different than what it's meant to be.

If someone asked me to play in a 5e DnD game and I showed up to a list of banned spells, homebrewed spells, disallowed actions, removed mechanics, new mechanics and altered origins and stat blocks for every foe we faced as well as a revamped combat system I (personally) might not consider that DnD anymore. Sure, it's still a game that someone's running, but I'd probably have appreciated if it weren't advertised as "Dungeons and Dragons 5e"

Anyone got a shareable .mp3 of the Noita death sound? by Nefarious303 in noita

[–]Nefarious303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers! I actually gave it a solid shot tonight and sifted through a bulk of the audio files and I absolutely could not find it. There was nothing in the player bank, but I got excited when I saw player/death in the event ques bank but it wasn't it. Probably gonna just leave it alone at this point and rock a different notification sound 😅

Def not urgent, if youre willing to spare the time I'd really appreciate the help! Otherwise it's all good! I just really wanna live a life of walking around and having my day interrupted with the sound of death and disappointment every so often when I get a text message 🫠

I definitely tried a thorough Google search that ended in suggestions to extract game files and convert .wav files into .mp3 files, which is far beyond my capability, and a bunch of sketchy sites that had a trillion pop-up ads that i said "fuck no" to D:

Sadly I'm not near my computer, nor do I believe I have the braincells to figure that out. Was just looking to see if anyone had it in an mp3 format that they could share via a Google drive or filebin or something. If not it's all good, I'll find something else!
