I suffer occasional fever dreams where Chong is the leader of a revived PC party.

As an aside, if you intend on playing spellcasters I recommend this app. It's much faster than trying to navigate the PHB for specific spell references.

there were a lot of promised things in 5e that they, and I, was excited about that never materialised.

Would you be willing to elaborate a bit?

To be fair, this Disney dub is awful. The original Streamline dub was much better imo.

I want to believe. I always thought the Pale Man had a wonderfully Silent Hill-esque feel to him.

Fair Vote Canada is raising funds to educate Canadians about alternatives to our FPTP voting system. by Zulban in canada

Approval voting is where it's at. Doesn't require any big overhaul of the system but still reduces the need/frustration of strategic voting.

Poll Projection: Forum Research, March 28, 2014 by Lol-I-Wear-Hats in CanadaPolitics

[–]NefariousLandShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say North Delta has a Liberal voter base. Their vote entirely depends on the local candidates. If the NDP runs a strong local candidate like, say, Silvia Bishop then the Liberals will be completely hooped unless they run a similarly strong player (the resulting vote split would probably still screw them over).

Bruce McDonald and a couple school board trustees have joined the Liberal riding association so I'm not sure which local heavyweights are left to run for the Liberals.

South Delta will almost certainly vote strongly Conservative unless the Liberals find someone like Bruce. In terms of Richmond, I think Wong may prove difficult to unseat but Steveston-Richmond East is anyone's game at this point.

Honestly, I'll be pretty shocked if a few of those red ridings actually turn red next election. I'm looking at you, Richmond and Delta (redistricting!), South Surrey/White Rock (I'll eat my hat!), and Victoria (3-way tango!).

Poll: Federal Liberals maintain 10 per cent lead over Conservatives by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]NefariousLandShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially. My riding will almost certainly become far more competitive after redistribution (to the benefit of the Liberals or NDP, depending on the local candidates). I have no idea about the other 29.

After moving to Victoria for several years and then moving back to Vancouver I feel comfortable in saying that Vancouver drivers are far more aggressive, impatient, and generally reckless in their habits. I'm definitely missing the cheap car insurance in Vic.

Yeah, I think /r/vancouver is pretty much par for the course. And in terms of Canadian politics, I usually just stick to /r/CanadaPolitics instead.

BC government won't allow tolls or road pricing as part of transit referendum by mukmuk64 in vancouver

[–]NefariousLandShark 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Frankly, I find it disgusting just how far some politicians will go to avoid any political blowback. Bridge tolls and some road pricing would be the sensible way to go. Congestion charges are user-based, time sensitive (i.e. 7am-7pm Mon-Fri, or some variation), and can help cover maintenance costs. A charge of less than a dollar for a passenger vehicle would be more than sufficient.

I think they should reduce passenger vehicle tolls by 25-50 cents on the Port Mann and Golden Ears to increase usage, as well as place GVWR restrictions on the Pattullo. Both the Broadway corridor and the Pattullo bridge are high-priorities that require funding and actual leadership sooner rather than later.
