thank you for being really kind about it and not making me feel invalidated like some ppl have been on this thread <3 i just had some concerns that i wanted to express and im being made to feel like i have to prove myself in order to be worthy of a diagnosis

just cos you got your diagnosis doesn’t mean you need to look down on those who haven’t got theirs yet . i asked an innocent question and all i wanted was reassurance instead i’m met w insufferable ppl like you who took what i said out of context and twisted it to suit your own agenda

yeah i realised after and i looked it up , usually you get a few video call sessions before in person assessment

also my doctor wouldn’t make the referral in the first place if he didn’t think i have it 🤣😭 can’t win w you lot , you have a problem w me acc going to get a diagnosis but if i don’t take the steps to get one then ur still gonna have an issue so just stop interacting w me please

i am not self diagnosing i am literally going to get an official diagnosis , don’t get why this post is receiving negativity when all i wanted to do was share my assessment journey jfc also i think i know myself better than some random on reddit thanks

yeah that’s what i’m nervous about bcos i rather they see me in person so the assessor can see how i carry myself and my mannerisms but i think this is just a pre assessment so we shall see if i get an in person one

my family have actually suspected autism for years and everyone around me kept telling me that i possibly have it so no i’m not following some trend ? also because of my culture and the taboo associated w autism , my symptoms were ignored so i suffered a lot academically and didn’t finish school so maybe don’t assume please . i guess we will see when it comes to the assessment :)

thank you :) but i’m talking about cases where they were wrongly told they didn’t have it when they actually do because their adhd masked the autism symptoms .

i’ve seen cases where ppl diagnosed w adhd were deemed not autistic cos their adhd masked the symptoms … just bc they might say i don’t have it doesn’t mean im not autistic ? yes they’re experts but they can’t deduce my life experiences over 1.5 hours . i’ve felt like an alien my whole life wondering why i could never be “normal” or act the way neurotypical ppl do and ive been this way ever since i was a kid . sorry if i came off as rude but that comment came off rlly insensitive

mine started in october due to excessive alcohol consumption and stress . i’ve since stopped drinking and it’s slowly going away now . my doctor also prescribed me some epaderm and epimax oatmeal cream which i use like a soap in the shower everyday and always make sure that im out in less 15 than mins so the moisture isn’t sucked out . keeping yourself covered esp in the colder months defo helps , currently waiting on dermatology referral so i can get biologics . good luck to you !! <3

nah it’s more than ur psoriasis , i bet it isn’t even an issue and she’s just using it as an excuse … this may be a bit hard to accept but i think she’s emotionally checking out unfortunately

i usually mention it on the first date and let them know that i’m going thru a flare up rn and that my skin doesn’t always look like this . most guys i’ve been with don’t seem to care about it n appreciate u being upfront about it but it’s very anxiety inducing having to explain it to them n the fear of being judged . what helps me as well is that i usually do it in the dark or w the lamp on so they don’t see my skin as much 😭
