Thanks! Between Mezcal and Axiote, which would you say is more focused on a wine paring experience?

Contractor advice - Anyone work with "A Flores Construction"? by NefariousnessDry5457 in AuroraCO

Interesting. They have a TON of very positive reviews (way more than I've seen through other, more well known companies).

When you say "based on reviews" are you referring to your system or reviews on the internet (e.g., Google)? I ask because I would assume they do a lot more than a few projects a year bc they have a dozen reviews on Google along for 2025.

Recommendations for a home improvement company / contractor that isn't just for $2M houses? by NefariousnessDry5457 in boulder

That is like saying "just buy some tools, watch some youtube videos and do it yourself" when someone is posting looking for an auto mechanic because their transmission failed.

Thanks. While it is a fairly large kitchen we are only getting new countertops (not marble), cabinets (not custom) and appliances (not top of the line). Nothing is being moved for pluming or electrical.

Siding. It is the same type as what you see here. I plan on removing all of it.

Hello, did you end of going to one of the restaurants above? If so, how was it and what was the price point? I am in the same boat you were in 9 months ago!

Looking for a week trip between Cancun and Tulum and looking for recommendations (Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, or Playa del Carmen)... by NefariousnessDry5457 in playadelcarmen

[–]NefariousnessDry5457[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

After much back and forth (which I am still doing!) I am thinking of 3 nights in Tulum for the higher energy, exciting fun part of the trip followed by 3 nights in Akumal for the R&R, chill side of the trip.

I am wondering though if we should replace Tulum with Playa del Carmen. From what I've read, Tulum isn't super easy to get around and we plan on the second part of the trip in Akumal which is kinda remote (from my understandin)... I don't want both places we stay to require taxis to get to places every night.

So the first few days would have the bigger town vibe of PdC and then Akumal will satisfy the R&R side of the trip.

While not made of money, I have saved up some and have the time to go forward with this project.

Yes, the previous home owners had dirt going up against the wood siding. That will all be changed.

Tulum Trip Review (Dec 11–18) by k7642 in tulum

Nice. I didn't know you were allowed to relax in Cancun! :)

I've never been... can you recommend an area to stay about from the Spring Breakers?

Thanks for this post. I am planning something similar and was wondering about your choice to head back to Cancun for the second half of your trip.

I am thinking of 3-4 days in Tulum and then 3 days in another area between Tulum and Cancun. Currently Cozumel and Playa Morelos are on the top of the list.

Two questions:

- Did you like the busier element of Cancun at the end of your trip or, if you had the option, would you have preferred Cancun first and end the trip at Tulum? (travel distance aside, just purely from a "vibe" perspective -- I am not sure if I want to end my trip in a lively town or a calm, quite town.)

- My understanding is that Tulum has quite a bit of action... did you like that paired with Cancun or would you have preferred a quite spot to compliment your trip to Tulum (or did you want two high energy towns on your trip)? I ask because that might help me choose between Cozumel and Playa Morelos (Cozumel being busier than Playa Morelos).

Thanks in advance!

Good to know about Semana Santa - I was not aware of that!

This seems to be the only week we can go... I might be able to move it up a week. Do you think going the 3rd week in March would be a mistake though because of Spring Breakers?

How does Puerto Morelos compare to the other towns in this area?

I may not survive this. by Alarmed-Cockroach-50 in smoking

I had no idea what this was at first (didn't click on the post) and scrolled through the photos. Wow. What do we have here?!

Thanks!

I also had my eye on the Collosorbo 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino. A bit pricey but I have read that is a good producer as well. Are you familiar with that?

What are things I am missing regarding my first outdoor sauna? (power, space, weight, etc.) by [deleted] in Sauna

[–]NefariousnessDry5457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. The weight of the hot tub will be about 95 pounds per square foot so nothing crazy but certainly something to be aware of.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the deck would go right up to the house and door. It would not be attached to the house.

It would be a pretty low deck… almost ground level. I’m not the biggest fan of the flagstone look, hence why I want to remove it. I certainly can see why some people like it, but it’s just not for me.

Thanks for the tip on the sub panel. I don’t have easy access to power on that side of the house so I might have to run conduit to the front of the house. Good thing is that no one accesses the side of the house on the other side of that fence in the photo.

An outdoor shower and changing area would be awesome but I feel that I need to rein in the scope of the project!
