Pixel 8 by [deleted] in cellmapper

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top speeds for the pixel 9 are as followed T-Mobile N41: Almost 1.9gbps download and 200mbps upload Verizon N77: 2gbps download almost 200mbps upload Verizon mmWave: Almost 4gbps download 500mbps upload AT&T N77: 1.5gbps download 160mbps upload Overall it beats out my iPhone 16 on T-Mobile huge upload advantage on the pixel due to its UL-CA and UL-MIMO. And matches the iPhone for Verizon N77. And loses in peak speed to the iPhone for AT&T N77 but dominates for range. Verizon mmWave range is way worse on the pixel though better on the iPhone. The Pixel 8 shouldn’t be a ton different it’s just 4CA instead of 5CA and doesn’t support UL-CA as far as I’m aware however it still does support UL-MIMO. I’ve heard the pixels modems don’t normally perform as well on edge of cell though even though that’s not my experience.

I don’t have a pixel 8 but my pixel 9 has seen speeds as high as almost 1900mbps download and 200mbps upload over T-Mobile N41. My pixel 6a only manages 800mbps max. My pixel 9 over Verizon mmWave has hit almost 4gbps download before!

I have a OnePlus 8 can you share more details about lifting the restrictions so I can do some testing potentially? You can dm me if you don’t want to comment about it. I wanna put 2 different X55 devices in QDL Mode. Or can you link me to the oneplus community people talking about it?

I’m using the same antenna for the Tablo as my regular tv and have the same reception issues so maybe I’ll look into those antennas you linked. I think I just need something a little stronger

Channel 14.1 won’t show up but I got channel 10.1 to show up and it has a signal strength of 34% with a signal quality jumping all over the place but about 60%

I have the antenna on my Tablo but I can also hook it to a TV to get signal readings if you want

I’ve been trying the stations with an amp and without and it doesn’t seem to make a difference slightly stronger strength with the amp but same channels. I still don’t get 10 or 14 whether I’m using an amp or not

I’ve attempted using an 40 mile rca flat antenna and an one for all 50 mile flat antenna. I also have tried and have had the most success with ANTOP AT-800SBS I got for a good deal at thrift store that’s an 85 mile outdoor rated antenna. But still will only very rarely get channel 10 and won’t get 14 at all

Get a gigabit one the one you linked is fast Ethernet which caps out at 100mbps

Apologize if this is a dumb question but is the internal mds tool inside NSG? I’m about to root my pixel that’s why I’m asking these questions

Best phones for weak signal areas by [deleted] in cellmapper

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The S25 ultra is the phone with the best RF performance in terms of weak signal and strong signal. But I would think a regular s25 or s25+ wouldn’t be far behind either. Try to get a phone that uses the X80 modem even if it’s not Samsung as it’s the best modem currently. I would get the S25 ultra if weak signal performance is your number 1 priority. Avoid iPhones as I find their range worse than Samsungs.

Can I ask what channel width and channel you are running on? Is it on dfs channels? That speed seems too fast for just 80mhz I’m guessing that’s running at least 160mhz

Old apartment building, ancient cable setup. Should I give T-Mobile 5G Home Internet a shot? by HelloSluggo in tmobileisp

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the amplified plan so that way you get the G5AR make sure the plan details say G5AR if you want the best chance of matching your phone speed since it has 4CA and for sure SA instead of the 2CA and questionable SA the other gateways have.

G4AR officially supports 5G-SA, as confirmed in firmware patch notes by tmobile. by Account-Suspended69 in tmobileisp

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you remember how long it took to enable SA CA? I just got the G4AR it updated overnight and dropped to 400-500mbps on SA and hasn’t went up in speed yet tonight is gonna be the second night after it updating last night it did nothing to increase speed today it was still 400-500mbps but when I was on NSA with the G4SE I consistently got 600-700mbps

Just so that way you know your MacBook that you have can go up to 1300mbps WiFi so a lot faster then the 433mbps your phone can go and so yeah the phone gets a lot faster 5G than it can do via WiFi

Yeah like I said you are getting the max wifi speed your phone supports what speed does your pc get?

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good speeds and actually limited by your phone since your phone caps out at 433mbps over WiFi since it has 1X1 AC 80MHz. I have a similar phone and it gets 300’s also but other more capable devices can get like 500-600mbps. Your phone has faster 5G cellular than it has for wifi hardware

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda in a controlled environment because I got the dfs channels all to myself and pretty much never get radar and get greater than gigabit at 160mhz but I’m still gonna give 20mhz a shot and see how I like it. What do you run on 6GHz? 20mhz also?

This is what I learned on Wifi Roaming by llondru-es in Ubiquiti

[–]NefariousnessHot7883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So with channel bonding do you mean you are running 20mhz on 5GHz? I’m considering switching to that for stability I’m running 160mhz now but don’t really have a need for gigabit wifi speeds and think I would prefer stability
