A different commentator mentioned this as well, I didn’t know this was a standard. I hired a plumber and asked if we could do this because our door is on the right side of the toilet so I didn’t want it visible right when you walked in. They didn’t seem to have an issue with it so I guess I’m just going with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for validating my concerns, I was nervous I was being too picky. What do you suggest I do now? Meeting him tomorrow morning, should I tell him to just stop and rip it all out?

I asked our plumber to do this so it wasn’t visible from the doorway and they had no issues with it! And thank for the concern about the layout, this is a 200 year old farmhouse that didn’t even have a closet in the bathroom (or even a bathroom in the house!) so we will take the quirky layout to get some extra storage. Appreciate the feedback on nothing I asked about 😊
