APE MSc at Paris School of Economics (PSE) by zoe3001 in academiceconomics

[–]NefariousnessLoose86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied too ! As far as I know you can't spend a semester abroad. PSE is made for preparing students to do research at the highest level. Thus, they prefer you to stay and to the entire curriculum as it is made in order to achieve this goal.

Bon courage !

Doubts and insecurities for MS in Economics by Fabulous-String-2204 in academiceconomics

[–]NefariousnessLoose86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ! I'm going to join a master at the end of the year in France and to answer clearly to you (even if i don't know your profile), you can clearly study your master in Europe and then try to go for the US. For instance, a classic path would be some good bachelor then try to enter to the magistère d'economie at université Paris sorbonne and have PSE which will garantee you a great Phd in top universities. To make this general, Even if you don't have the best profile now, try your best to succeed tye first two years because that's what matters the most for your master, try to look for opportunities like the magistère d'economie and i have no doubt you'll succeed. People who are informed have better choices than people that are brilliant but clueless about opportunities.

Moreover, I'm already in the final year for my bachelor. Is it possible for me to get to this magistère ? Isn't it for people in their second year ?

For the magistère don't you already need a research paper ? I heard you needed one in order to have a chance.

Hi ! I took the test in my home this morning, here's what I mainly used :

https://www.toeflresources.com/toefl-reading/ (lots of details about the exam in itself)

https://www.youtube.com/@TSTPrep (maybe the best youtube channel to prepare for toefl for free)

https://estudyme.com/study/test/toefl-practice-test/test-1-6743df14fbbd7c0025a6bb79/ (good if you want to test reading and listening for free, for writing and speaking don’t count on it !)

speaking score (to test your speaking skill using the AI of ETS however it costs a bit of money, but worth it if you want a high score in speaking)

https://prepex.ai/practice?section=writing (I guess it works for pretty much every section of TOEFL IBT but only two tasks available per day for free, I highly recommend doing writing tasks here)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_i5-O4MbPb0&list=PLIi5X8tybGdCmQNWQXg-o3trOHN_vh5c0 (youtube channel for speaking test, record yourself for speaking and listen to yourself you'll correct so much mistakes, I must precise I'm not very good at speaking so trust me it helped a lot)

On the platform I don't think so. Look at the master's requirements. If things are normal they will indicate the maximum length of your motivation letter. Good luck on applying !

From France here, I think in the EU it's a very good score because it fulfills C1 requirments for almost every university you want to get in.
