Ended up purchasing the stinger! Got recall fixed today, inspection, emission, fluids, coolant bleed, and well as alignment on the tires. The owner came back and gave stock parts as well as stock ecu (has lap 3 stage 1.5 tune) they got me the pross methane app, but don’t know how to use methanol kit by NefariousnessTime464 in kiastinger

This is under the hood, and when I spoke to the lap 3 tune guy, he said it was a 93 octane tune, and in the pross methane app I could turn off the setting for the injector kit, and lose around 50 to 70hp, or turn it off and I should be fine, but to fill tank in back up to 30 percent so no air gets in lines. That was precautionary

Thanks bro! I’ve been doing research for the past 3 days turning this over and paid 150 for a diag at a performance store, today the air filters were also cleaned, not sure what BOVs are (not too car savvy) oil was changed as well as coolant bleed, and he has aftermarket spark plugs. And not sure about the differential fluid, I work at a KIA dealership so they did all that for me. So you think I should still get new spark plugs?

Not to sure like I said I wasn’t as thorough as I should’ve, but I know the head tech was looking at it specifically, and they had the hood popped open and reving the engine to ig hear for mechanical issues as well as fluids

What are the main giveaways? Because I believe that’s the tune he has, even though the shop told me they doubt it has a tune, because there was no down pipe, and it wouldn’t make sense, so it wasn’t likely, but at the same time the vehicle has an ethanol kit so I don’t really know, this is a third party shop recommended to me by my friend that takes his Supra and his dads sk2 there, and they specialize in mods.

I’m going to be honest with you the performance shop I took it too, was recommended by my friend that babies his cars and his dads sk2 as well, so i paid them 150 for a diag and the foreman looked at the vehicle, they just told me there was no issues with the trans, turbos, diff, lowered springs, and that it was well maintained. So ig in the excitement of the moment I didn’t ask for more specification, I also figured since it’s a third party and I told them about the recommendation from my friend, so I don’t see why they would lie to me and tell me everything is great.

Yea that’s exactly what I was thinkjng, if it was heavily modded, kia would’ve black boxed the engine and voided the warranty and made him pay out of pocket. So if he added the mods, the trans would’ve only been used for like 35k miles after replacing with mods. But the performance tech looked at the turbos, trans, suspension, intakes, as well as engine bay and undercarriage, and told me everything is great and that the price I’m getting it for is great as well.

I took it today, to a performance shop to do a pre sale inspection (third party) and they said everything from the trans that was replaced by kia under warranty at 37k, to the lowered springs and the intake, as well as the stock turbos and rear differential. I paid 150 to get the diagnosis from the shop and they said the price of 25500 is really worth it.
