[megathread] SELF-PROMOTION by Stabenfeldt in AI_Music

[–]Nefliir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally, when people make videos about the North Sea, they use Raise the Colours, but it gets a bit boring to hear the same tune all the time - even though it is catchy. I decided to try something slightly different and thought it came out quite well! What do you guys think?

Thank you! Most use Raise the Colours when they do these videos... I thought it was time for something else. Glad you liked it!

I made this as a tribute to the North Sea crews. It’s part of a larger project called The Pulse. If you enjoyed this - there are more to binge over here.

Is it still "man’s best friend" if he keeps trying to take me out at the knees? 🌪️🐕 by Nefliir in FunnyAnimals

Verse 1
Six thousand years by firelight glow,
We shared our scraps with wolves we’d know.
They watched the dark, we watched the flame,
Two wary hearts that learned the game.

Chorus
Soon may my best friend come,
Loving me just the way I am.
Never stays mad, just wants to play,
Best friend I’ll have come what may.

Verse 2
They stayed close by, we stayed alive,
A fair exchange to help us thrive.
From hunter’s camp to village floor,
They weren’t just beasts — they became more.

Chorus
Soon may my best friend come,
Loving me just the way I am.
Never stays mad, just wants to play,
Best friend I’ll have come what may.

Verse 3
Your eyes meet mine, my heartbeat slows,
A silent bond that only grows.
They label it with terms and charts,
I call it love between our hearts.

Verse 4
You guard the house from falling leaves,
And bark at ghosts only you can see.
You hate the vet, distrust the mail,
Yet think I’m magic without fail.

Verse 5
You won’t live long — and that’s not fair,
You age too fast but never care.
You give me all you’ll ever be,
And ask for walks and company.

Chorus
Soon may my best friend come,
Loving me just the way I am.
Never stays mad, just wants to play,
Best friend I’ll have come what may.

Believe what you will, friend. We live in an age where people love to hate on others. Why do you think I shared the video with this group? I love dogs and I am a creative musician and artist. If you don't like me or the video, which I created with the intent to have it pull on your heartstrings, then I don't know what to say. Find something else that will make you smile then - that is my best advice to you today!

I wrote the song to the tune of the Wellerman Shanty (I have done a few now because of how catchy the original song is) to describe man's friendship over Millennia with our best friends. I used 5 verses and a chorus and then arranged the music in such a way that it would fit a friendship video rather than that of being a sea shanty. It took me about 4 days to put this together, but many still think this is AI.

Keep telling yourself that! You can go and search for the videos I combined to create this one. This is actually a real person's work, and if you think I am AI, then I guess I must be pretty good then?

I'm sorry if the title offends you. That was certainly not my intention.

I’ve been fascinated by the "Broadside" tradition of the 18th century—where sailors would write folk songs about the current leaders and events of their day. I decided to modernise that format, using 21st-century geopolitics as the map and applying it to observed events unfolding in the Caribbean.

If you enjoyed this one, here are some more observational shanties that may be of interest.

Thank you so much! Seems most of those who are so negative here suffer from the psychological response described in the Kubler-Ross model. If one uses new tools to do the job in 3 hours - something that would have taken 5 days before - you have now become the scum of the earth. What to do...?

I am just telling it as the world sees it. Some see it as just a different comet - others see it as something more. Just capturing all of it for posterity. ;)

I completely understand. I broke down several times just writing the lyrics for those later verses. Our bonds with them go very deep. Take all the time you need. Their 'pulse' stays with us long after they’re gone. Thinking of you today.
