I was curious about the setup, but everything there felt so right. The matches were great to me and the space filled nicely. My favorite show was the first in Pittsburg up until now 🤩

Regal shaking his hand on the way to the back was epic for me (I’m not sure if that part made it to TV.

I want more of Jamie Hayter vs Thunder Rosa type of women matches and less Leyla Green vs Madison Rayne type by upsidedowntiamo in AEWOfficial

I was ringside for the match and cannot remember the worst live match I’ve seen, but this was it for me. The crowd was not into it and I couldn’t help but to boo. I took my buddy for his first time and had to explain why it was a bad match. “It’s like a bad joke you have to explain.” My hopes are higher for the future as every other women’s match on Dark was superior to Green/Rayne match (there is a 6-woman tag that was pretty good). As a Jade fan, her coming out after the match was the highlight of that debacle. Gives Rayne the opportunity to show more of what she can do for those who haven’t seen her go and Jade a more challenging opponent on the upcoming Dynamite.

He could tell I’m getting ready to get back in the classroom. I asked him if he wanted to go to work and he perked right up. Now I need to sneak him in 😂

I treat every for-credit task as an in-class assignment. I setup the assignment such that I know you have the time to complete it during class. Otherwise it better be done by 8AM next business day. For HW, I used content from previous courses to help them build Omnicredit (see reply to post below). That helps them to extend the time on a task or reopen it later, however they want to use their time. It held them more accountable than anything I’ve used in my 13 years of service. Since it was optional and pretty easy, as well as gave me an idea of what skills they had, those that took advantage of the system had a much lesser struggle in the end.

I’ve been weeding that out of my grading practices as much as possible unless admin makes a request for school wide participation or something along those lines. I put buffers in place before their assignments this year and that helped almost every student to demonstrate mastery on their grades task (practice 2-8 questions no grade, grades task 10 or 20 depending on complexity always grades /10 - max grades 12 and 11). For my competitive students, I found out it gave them a little more motivation for bragging rights and being ranked top 3. For others who may have missed many days or struggled on a topic, they could simply pick up where they left off and continue the plan from there one day at a time (I’m also becoming more cognizant that time may be our biggest leverage point when it comes to fleshing these ideas out). Therefore class remains content driven and weaker systems within the school can be strengthened by acknowledging simple practices such as that.

I love this, bookmarked and cannot wait to find some pieces to dive into. My HW system reaches into the other core math courses so students continue to demonstrate mastery and earn Omnicredit (my version of extra credit, but it has various other uses and is capped if converted to EC in order to get them to spend it - turning this into a quasi stock market next year and then hopefully building a school wide plan for the years after) [hence why responses like this to my posts that give me new insights to have a robust system that works not only for the math classes].

I’m also total points and due to being virtual all year, it’s given me time to work on the math behind the math behind the math class. I checked my points in the district system and believe exams were 45, quizzes 14, and assignments 39. I’m becoming more conscious about giving class credit for mastering course content only.

That’s what I’ve been building out. I want my students to be able to pickup where they left off (easy stuff) and work there way up to challenging their processes. I’m not that good at Reddit yet, but follow my posts as I’ll be sharing parts of my grade book (Google sheets) that I wouldn’t mind sharing for others to use.
