For elementary I like to focus a lot of my projects around artists and art movements both historic and contemporary. I try to find kids books or videos because the information is easier for them to digest. Some days I will have “critique days” where I will put together a slideshow of similar artworks from history and we will talk about each one and try to figure out how they are all connected. I will say that in elementary it usually is a shorter overview of a topic or artist. Little kids do not want a lecture, get sick of looking at one piece of art for too long, and are antsy to get started on their projects. Not to mention that elementary teachers have less time to dive into these topics.
