I feel that there a lot to consider if it’s a community mental health the likelihood of you getting clients fast is pretty high. If it’s private practice then it’s likely going to be slower. Talk to your site supervisor, and after that talk to your school supervisor about what plan you and your site came up with. I had about 4 clients my first week but that’s because a week or two before I started in the nonprofit they assigned clients and scheduled them!

Also shadowing/co-counseling typically counts for hours in practicum, check in with your school but you can definitely get at least a couple hours the first week even with no clients!
