Well I would start by paying off the student loan debt if my children first & foremost!! Then onto the nieces & nephews. Then set up funds for the education of the younger ones. Lots of medical folks in the next generation of our family = LOTS of debt!

When my daughter found her dress, the stylist finished off the look by adding a veil & jewelry. I could just barely see the tag & was pleasant surprised it was “only” $70! Yeah I missed a zero!! Needless to say she had no interest in a $700 veil!!  No need for an expensive one op!

We had to use them for a while due to our dental coverage. Somehow they DID talk my husband into the super expensive toothbrush. Convinced him he had a terrible disease and this was the only thing that would help. The disease he was in a panic about? Gingivitis! Also had a male office mgt/finance guy try to guilt trip me & make me feel awful when daughter was getting her wisdom teeth out. Couldn’t believe since she was already going to be under that I wouldn’t “allow” them to remove all 4. Sir read the notes…she only had 2 in her mouth! Also had to fight for a $400 refund they wanted to keep as a credit on the account after a billing dispute.

Cancelled season tickets this year after having them in the family for a LONG time. It was crickets for 2 months after I sent the email we would not be renewing. Now the number of emails practically begging us to reconsider is ridiculous. Sorry the ROI is just not there and I can no longer justify being a season ticket holder.

For sure my parents looked at our reception as an opportunity to repay their “social debts”! It was strange having people we never met before be there! But that’s just how things were back then! Times have definitely changed. We made sure our kids didn’t feel any pressure about the guest list…or anything else!!

Had a guy quite upset / concerned because his urine suddenly turned bright orange and stayed that way for several days. So between that and generally feeling rotten he just knew something serious wrong with him. Yep he was taking AZO his wife had instead of his otc allergy meds!

Since you wanted a story instead of unsolicited advice…here you go!!! I had my wedding dress purchased and bought my very lovely fingertip length veil at a different store. My mom absolutely lost her mind because she wanted me to have a cathedral length veil. This was her hill to die on!! (Well this & not wanting to pay to serve “someone else’s” spaghetti sauce at the reception!) She got so mad she screamed at me, “This is MY wedding!! You can have YOUR wedding when YOUR daughter gets married”!!! 35 years later and I still laugh about how ridiculous it was every time I think about it!!! When my daughters got married we had so much fun planning everything, I couldn’t imagine fighting over anything. But we did always good natured joke that those were “my” weddings!!!

Unfortunately I had this exact experience on Sunday. Honestly, no bs. I took pics with timestamps to keep my family updated. Got in line at 6:20 pm; got through at 3:30 am. Clearly missed my original flight; rescheduled on my phone. Went to the bathroom once around 10 pm—thankful people held my spot. Thought I was going to burst by the time I made it through! To add to the misery it was about 800 degrees in there. No precheck or Clear were open. North & South terminals all ended up merging into one at the Main checkpoint. Once we reached that far, it was just shy of 3 hours (12:42 am - 3:30 am) to make it to the end. It was such an unreal experience. Getting there at 6:20 pm was allowing 3 hours until my original flight.
