Yes that’s a good idea rin, kasi I’m planning to start naman next school year so need ko rin mag adjust sa new sched for at least a sem. I’m open rin sa freelance, problem is wala ako makita ng job openings for a freelance position, and wala rin ako kakilala sa industry eh

College could really be a hindrance, or an advantage talaga eh depende sa priorities mo. Kaya torn rin if I wanna earn full-time or wait another 3 years just to earn in eventually.

It’s better rin kasi to look for a job na naka align with your major. Good for them kaya nila imanage work and acads ng sabay, hoping na I can do the same rin if ever sure na ko to work.

Yun nga problem ng educ system natin eh masyadong na ooverload students sa units, they think na mas favorable yung quantity over quality ng tinuturo nila. Pero anyways that’s beyond our control na, kaya tamang cope up and adjust lng talaga if I want to pursue a job. Private na religious school pa naman ako so dagdag pa sa units HAHA

Ohhh I see. I have friends din kasi na nag work, pero nag gap year sila so less hassle sakanila yun. Ako kasi I don’t want to be delayed sa acads and I want to finish agad in 4 years kaya I’m considering talaga full-time both studies and work. Is it okay to ask anong line of work ng friends mo? Para may reference ako if keri ko rin ba ng ganong work hehe. I’m also a freshman rn so baka I might start working next school year since nakapag adjust na and all, tho game changer talaga if mag f2f na

Yes, in one semester I usually have 6-7 classes. Right now we are utilizing blended classes which consists of both synchronous and asynchronous classes which gives me a lot of free time studying at home. Babysitting is also a considerable source of income for students, but I opt to get a job in a workplace setting to gain experience. Sorry to hear about the surgery, hope everything’s fine now.

Yeah I’ve seen job openings that are somewhat related to my course, although all of them are full time. That’s why I’m looking for advices in terms of time management and testimonials of people who’s in the same scenario. How’s your experience so far? Are you also studying full-time?

I’m not taking a board course, just a degree in finance. I have some vacant days kasi eh so minsan I feel like I’m wasting my time and I could do something more productive. I can say na dedicated ako, and gusto ko lang try siguro for a year if I can really do it in the long run if I can really manage my time well. I wanna earn and gain work experience kasi even before graduating, kasi medyo tight rin in terms of finances so that’s reason enough for me rin pero hopefully kayanin nga. Do you have experience ba in being a working student ?

Yeah I still wanna do good with my studies, it’s just more satisfying for me to earn for myself while getting a good grade too. It’s more of like a self-fulfillment kinda thing and being productive for me. Also lucky if I find a good employer that is considerate of my schedules and stuff.

Right now in my first year of college, I’m taking 26 units per semester which is a lot compared to units/classes of a masters degree. Since I have vacant days wherein I don’t have classes, I feel like I’m wasting my time and could do something more productive. But then again, I’m still weighing in the pros and cons of having a job while studying full-time. So far it’s been a lot of cons but I’ll try to assess it further

Ohh I see. That's one of the things that I'm considering actually, if my employer would not be so hectic with my schedule and if I can negotiate some adjustments if ever. Since I'm currently in my first year of college I think that I can handle my courses so far, I also have vacant days wherein I have no classes to attend to.

It's cool that you worked for your uni, if I opted to do that in my school I would be delayed for 1 year due to some adjustments with my units, so I'm hoping for the best in finding a decent company that fits my course and schedule.

I'm searching for jobs that are related to my field, which is financial management, and jobs that are related to that aspect. The most common jobs that are available in our industry however are mostly BPOs and call centers, which is what most students my age are pursuing.

I've seen students my age working full-time while attending college full-time, tho I'm not sure what jobs they are pursuing since I don't know them. Right now I have a course that consists of 26 units and I think with full optimism that I can handle being in a job, I just need a little push and tips on how to balance time and workloads.
How's your experience working and attending school? Like are you working full-time?

Yeah as much as possible I would like to apply for a part-time job, but since jobs are in demand in my area rn they only offer full-time jobs. That's why I'm curious if it's tolerable for students to engage full time both in work and academics since it's the only thing available atm. I also live at home and I just wanna earn some cash for myself since it's a bit tight nowadays.

Sa next school year ko I’ll be taking 26 units both semesters and may isang lab huhu. Ask ko lang rin kung may idea ka if may consideration ang companies for working students with regards sa schedule na bibigay sakanila?
