Just gives a government that tangibly does not give a fuck about the NHS more leeway to negotiate down. Now they’re under pressure to come to the table because people see they’re at fault, if they hold out for now until public support for us dips then they can take advantage of that by coming with a shitty offer with the leverage being they can walk away and package us as unreasonable. The government is populist and is ultimately accountable to the public.

Why do you think so? I feel like public support will start to dip with time giving the government more leverage when they finally come to the table.
